Windshieldwasher pumps sometimes work, sometimes not

Howdy All

I get to use our sons ‘99 TJ while he’s abroad.
• Sam had purchased new pumps already, but now that I’m (his ol man) driving it they sometimes work, sometimes not

•fuse checked ok, wiggle included
• haven’t checked under dash for a connector
• anyone experienced this scenario ?

Have someone operate the windshield washer from inside the vehicle and place your hand on the pump to feel if it's operating.
Check the connector plugged into the pump.
Test the connector to see if you are getting 12V.
Check to see if the squirter holes are obstructed.
Check the condition of the fluid to see if it is clear or junk laying in the bottom of the windshield washer reservoir.
Test windshield washer switch and connector.

When I purchased my '01 Jeep the windshield washer pump was not working.
Found that the PO had installed the inline check valve backwards causing the pump to burn out.
You never know what you will find until the troubleshooting is done....

All checked , leaning towards faulty / intermittent multifunction switch on steering column
