Ok, this is a petty one, but aggravating none the less…

I recently changed the wiper switch on my ’97 TJ to one that includes intermittent wipers. It worked fine for a few days, now every time I hit a small bump, the wipers cycle. Sometimes they cycle as if on intermittent, and other times they just run continuously until I move the switch to “ON” and back to “OFF” several times. Has anyone experienced this problem before?

I’m not out a lot of money as the intermittent switch was only $8 on Ebay. This weekend I’ll swap the old switch back in and then try to open up the replacement switch to see what might be causing it to be so sensitive.

Was it a "used" switch?

I'm not sure if it will work on a '97, but dodge neon intermittent wiper switches are supposed to be a direct fit.

I have to wonder if the "used" part (assuming it's used) plays a role in this. I know these switches have a history of failing (it's very common), so a used one could have some issues inside of it. This would be my guess personally, as my MFS gave me all sorts of issues before fixing it.
