Working on my 2006 Jeep TJ. Currently installing new speakers and a 5channel amp. Clearing out the sub box and found wiring that is connected to the factory amp. Does anybody know what this is and what it connects to? Can I remove this? Thanks.

If you are using new speaker wires from the new 5 channel amp to all speakers and the sub, then you can cut that wiring out of the sub box. The factory service manual will show how that connector contains power and ground for the factory sub amp and connections for the OEM speaker wires. I cut mine out and from the mating connector I grabbed the 12v + and ground to use with another accessory in my console.
