Aftermarket Bumper & Driving Light Suggestions

I’m looking into getting some light for my bumper, and I’m looking for suggestions on brand/style. I think I’d like driving/spread style that I can use on the road if I want to. I have aftermarket LED headlights, but I don’t have to have LED driving lights, so I’m open to suggestions.

I’ve been looking at the KC Apollo 6”, but I’m not really sold in spending $175.00 for something I will rarely use.

Any other suggestions on brand or certain style? A long time ago I had Hella 6” on my YJ, and they seemed fine, but I never really used them as well.

Well, I was going to recommend a cheap set of 6" HID lights that I got from Northern Tools for $25, but I see Northern has discontinued them and when I went to the mfg's site, they want $165 for the exact same set.

I have them mounted at the base of the windshield and hardly ever use them. Just what I wanted for $25, but certainly not worth $165 for my purposes. Not to say they don't work...they're bright as heck. I just don't use them enough to justify the $165.

My Nilight China made $40 lights are super bright. I color matched them with red ones. I drive a lot at night and they work great.

Yeah, I got them, and then, about a month after I bought them I got an email from Northern announcing the closeout of the lights. If I had known how much they were elsewhere, I'd have bought a 2nd set and stashed them in a storage compartment somewhere.
20/20 hindsight.

Has anyone ever used Hella 500 Black Magic driving lights? They’re only $85 on Amazon for the whole setup. I had some Hella 500FF on my old YJ, and I was pleased with them.

I have a set of Hella 500s driving lights on my wife's Durango, and a set of 550 Fogs on my Jeep. They work well and don't cost an arm and a leg.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Hella has become my "Go To" for lights.

If there's one thing I've learned from owning a Jeep, it's that you get what you pay for. Having unreliable, cheap parts is detrimental to your rig.

Inexpensive doesn't necessarily mean cheap. A full on racing vehicle would benefit from the high dollar lights, but most of us would not. For every day, (or night) driving, the Hella lights I mentioned above would be fine.

I ended up buying the Hella 500 Black Magic kit. It was $82.00 on Amazon, and should be here tomorrow. Comes with the lights/shields/bulbs, a harness, a switch, a relay, and all of the mounting hardware.... I agree that I wouldn't call the Hella lights "cheap". I had the 500FF on my old YJ a long time ago, and I was pleased with them. While I'm certain KC is a better light, overall, for my use I think the Hella's will be perfect, and they didn't break the bank.
