Weird steering at full lock

So just yesterday and today while pulling out of my driveway and parking i've noticed a weird choppy feeling in the steering wheel at full lock only. Going both forward and in reverse, and turning left or right...

There is nothing rubbing and i'm fairly certain I checked the power steering fluid the correct way, and the fluid was not low by any means. It also drives fine otherwise. The little bit of searching I did only found one thread somewhere that sounded similar, and folks were mentioning the Axle U-Joint.

I was hoping the symptoms might sound familiar to someone and help me make a determination. I'm not sure how to check u-joints out, or if I should be checking in another direction altogether. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks guys for any insight.

That happened to me also. I checked and checked for rubbing and found nothing. I decided to install a washer on each steering stop and the problem was corrected. Don't know why or how, but it's fixed and I'm not worrying about it.

Yeah this isn't a Steering Stop issue, I too added a washer to mine when I upgraded to 31's to prevent the rubbing on the lower control arm. This is something completely different.

mine does the same thing and I have looked at everything I could and nothing is wrong with mine. Are you sure your in two high? 4wd will make it feel that way too

My 4WD was in between 2H & 4H and just not pushed down all the way. Problem solved! Wtf, lol. Thanks man!

I just removed my center console the other day to clean it and the area underneath, so I had to pull that shifter up a little to remove it. Just never pushed it back down all the way after I reinstalled it.

I did something similar to my 02 tahoe changing the instrument cluster-the key needs to be on to lower the shifter out of the way...bumped the 4 low button...and it clicked right in. Next morning went to drive to work, it didn't want to turn on pavement backing out of the driveway, so I just put it right back in the driveway and drove something else. I figured it out thinking about it all day at work lol.
