I’m new to owning a Jeep and am looking for some type of rear seat bucket seat configuration. I either want a double bucket seat fold and tumble set up, or a single bucket seat.

I dont think you will find a perfect tumble/fold bucket seat. Most of them are tooo bulky to really fold/tumble out the way.
Thats why the rear seat is removable and very slim. They make high back rear seats though! and you wont have to get crafty with a welder.

It would be a very tight fit and I seriously doubt you could get two captain's chairs or two separate bucket seats to fit side by side.
You would probably have to improvise/fabricate your own setup, using something like two of the single second row seats from a Yukon or Denali or another full-size SUV, or possibly even the small seat from the 3rd row seats.

That might be the best way to go, I have no problem fabricating, Just looking for the easy way out before putting in the extra work
I found the above thread on a CJ-8 forum and it inspired me. Purchased a set of 2004 Ford Explorer 2nd row seats today. Only person who rides back there is my 6 year old daughter.
Keep us posted with mock up pics & whatnot. TJs have much less room than a cj8, so I'm curious to see how they fit. Personally I'd lose the headrests, but that's just me. I hate headrests
Mocked them up last night and agree losing the head rests is a good idea. They do fit between the wheel wells…(Trying to figure out how to post pics from my camera roll). Likely not an option as I am a newbie.

I’ve been off and on with them - I guess it depended on who was in it.
Me and Rick Douglas and his girl Tammy double dated in a CJ -7. You could nearly go “too far” just trying to get everyone in the Jeep. Looked like Twister on wheels.
Most of the time the persons’ job in the backseat was to reach behind it into the Playmate cooler and hand us a ......(insert you beverage here)
I’ve seen rear competition type seats in vehicles- always seemed they’d be hard to get into/out of.
I’ve been off and on with them - I guess it depended on who was in it.
