No coolant reservoir?

Hi all!

Firstly sorry if im breaking any forum rules and any technical incompetence.

I recently bought a year 2000 Wrangler, 4.0L straight 6. I’ve recently had a new radiator fitted but interestingly the mechanic never added a coolant reservoir. I only noticed because once when I stopped there was a little bit of Vapor/dripping escaping from below the hood and then I noticed the excess tube from the radiator just points towards the ground.

My question is… is this normal ? Seems strange to me, shouldn’t I have a coolant reservoir fitted ?

Whats the craic mate?!!

Should have an overflow bottle that will attach to the radiator. Went quickly through my pics but I guess I never have taken a picture of it.

He might have forgotten to reinstall it. If he doesn't still have it buy a replacement and install it.

He has said the model doesn’t have one. But from what I’ve read it seems I should perhaps get one and install it myself ?
Seems fairly simple to do

That's not correct.

They all had overflow bottles.

Of course it does, he's lying because he lost it. The coolant recovery bottle is Mopar p/n 52028068AB and it is easily installed into its bracket it slides into.

Without the bottle, the radiator will not be full of coolant and will lose some cooling capacity.

Also, the air in the radiator will promote corrosion over time.
