What did you do to your TJ today?

Ok finally, idler pulley, new belt & tensioner! Nice & quiet at startup for once. The Gates brand pulley came with an insert that didn't fit. Maybe its for another application so I just found a larger washer to go under the little stock washer & it said to remove the stock dust cover & all seems well. 👌👍
Edit: ok after sitting & pondering what I just did it dawned on me maybe there's incorrect pressure on the idler pulley if it isn't supported fully on the inside. So I set the gates spacer inside with the stock adapter & marked it around with a red sharpie and then cut it around with a Dremel cutoff bit. Sanded it down & smoothed the edges and found a little smaller washer & reinstalled to 35 ft-lb. Was spinning much more freely & I feel better. So in other words just spring for the Mopar idler pulley!!!?!

I swapped out my shifter, in that time the plastic clip thing broke. New one arrived, I still aint got the boot back on properly.

With the rubber boot I have it was pretty simple. The bottom of the boot goes around the edge of the retaining ring and there are two tabs that slide under I believe was the front of the console and then you just have to put enough pressure on the rear of the boot and clip to pop it into the grooves on the back end of the console. My problem was getting the rubber boot adjusted right on the shifter to not allow binding between the rubber and the shifter.

Met up with @Hog and @tr21triton in Trenton, GA. For an informal Jeep show!!!!!

A few weeks ago when a friend of mine were texting/sending pics back and forth about our jeep progress and he noticed I still had the stock radio. He did not like that so he gave me his old setup. He takes real good care of his stuff just always likes to change things up. So today out with the old and in with the new

Replaced both front sway bar bushings and end links. front end was dancing around going over bumps and I’ve had a few instances of genuine death wobble at highway speeds. noticed the rubber grease boots were torn on both end links. Replaced with new Moog parts and bushings and I was quite honestly surprised by how much improved the ride is now, I had zero expectation with just the replacement end links and thought I’d need all new steering parts. I’ll probably do a ZJ steering upgrade in the future, but this bought me some time. Very happy

I wouldn’t have offered it if it were not something I was willing to part with. In any event, I’d wager a guess that I bought it at a fabric store like Joann Fabric’s. It’s available in different gauges of stiffness if my memory serves me well..

I’ve given my daughter seat time on a few occasions. She get’s encouragement from the fact that my wife can’t do it, nor any of her friends. Truth told, my wife can’t drive a shopping cart without getting into a jam but that’s another conversation.
Thank you. I'll give it a shot

Check your front track bar bolts for torque. Look at your rear sway bar bushings. Replacing my rear bushing was a huge boost to stability.

Got a few things done this weekend, installed a replacement sail cloth top, the OEM was 21 years old and had seen better days. Installed a new Smittybilt rear bumper. Drilled and tapped a broken screw for the driver door retaining strap footman loop and then promptly lost the loop. Set the dang thing down somewhere and can't find it. Sigh I am sure there are a few on Amazon.
