..." secret recipe is renowned for being the best on-road ride and the most off-road flex, all in one spring!"

Should the person claiming "being the best on-road ride" be shamed for making false claims? Or give him a pass?

Really? Why does it have to be this way?

Give a pass or shame, more power to you, but just explain why you thought it was good or relevant to bring this up here.

If Matson wrote that, I have given him a hard time on multiple occasions for misrepresenting his products. He doesn't care. The marketing BS works, so why should he care?

That's the current posting from the RockJock website. Brian's too smart 🙂

That's an unfortunate description from RJ. At least the first portion. But the springs still are what they are. So nothing changes in that regard.

1. Hello
2. True or not, say anything positive bout MC and fanboys gonna fan.
3. Hard to believe that MC Control Arms can improve a ride on their own.

I wonder if the stock arms were loose, and the MC arms are on tighter, thus giving an "improved" ride.

One way to test this is to put your stock arms back on.... see if the ride worsened or stayed the same.

I have some high praise for the Duroflex Control Arm, TJ/LJ Double Adjustable Aluminum Short Arms made by MetalCloak.
But the ride quality these arms have given me is too incredible not to talk about.

Are you also part of the 15% of Americans that think the economy is doing great?

I have very low standards.
So you have your finger on the pulse of the Jeep rock crawling/mall crawler industry. We have seen the improvement electronic controlled shocks has brought to the SxS and off road racing, is there anything you have seen on the horizon for our industry in the way of electronic?

Know of it, the way I see it, they won't make it to the TJ with any regularity whatsoever due to the cost. If you figure the general "gold standard" is a 50 dollar white rocket off the shelf someplace, it isn't hard to arrive at that answer.

I find interesting that people will spend thousands of dollars on the latest whiz bang short arm suspension and then use the white rocket shocks. Is there room on this forum to have a discussion about shock technology and ride improvement.

Justin Smith over at Shock Therapy has changed the SxS industry thinking about suspension and shocks, in fact Fox was force to buy a piece of his business to get his patented shock technology. There are way more Jeeps in the world than SxS and all those Jeeps could benefit from improved shock technology.

With the respect you have in the Jeep industry I could see you being the Justin Smith of the Jeep aftermarket industry and leading the charge of shock technology for all of us.

How about just fucking no? I've battered my head on that wall until I'm more senseless than usual. I've been in enough battles over shocks and suspension to avoid them for the most part because they are all boringly repetitious with no to little change to the overall mentality and knowledge base.

This thread is the absolute perfect example of how that goes every single fucking time and has gone every single fucking time for the last 15 years, 13 of which I've been paying for and adjusting the tunes on shocks for the TJ.

It doesn't matter how many times you explain that control arm joints have little to zero effect on ride quality, we still can't change what folks want to believe. We can't change that not only do you not fix ride quality with springs, you can't.

So no, I won't be leading any charges and in point of fact, my best option is generally to retreat because I'm just not interested in trying to overcome all the bullshit. I'll exert high levels of influence in my tiny little pond where I have full control and the willfully ignorant can remain so without me bothering them.

We can't get people to understand why Metalcloak bushings are garbage, but you expect a serious technical discussion on shocks?
