Congrats @Chris. I raised 3 girls and no boys and never once regretted not having a boy , well maybe when they were all in high school at the same time
I won't be disappointed at all if it's another girl. A boy just might be nice, but I won't get my hopes up
The problem is, we've tested out everything with a third row. Accessing the third row seats in most SUVs is a royal pain in the butt. I always was one of those guys who said I would NEVER own a Minivan, until I actually took a drive in a newer Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. So much room, easy to move around in, the third row is very easily accessible with the full sliding doors, etc. Sure, they don't look as cool as something like an SUV, but in regards to comfort for the whole family, there is simply no substitution whatsoever.
The Toyota Highlander is one we considered, but testing it back-to-back with a Toyota Sienna, it's no contest at all who the winner is in terms of comfort and roominess.
Coolness factor is way more important than comfort and roominess. Remember, you have a reputation to uphold
If that roof rack can hold Aunt Edna, I'm pretty sure you can tie down a couple of toddlers. :biggrin:
That thing is a full size van of some flavor. The local (ish) Ford dealer always seems to have one or two parked on his rock pile with the other big 4x4 trucks he sells. Not in the fancy section, but over where the boom trucks and chasis live. Want me to drop by and see what he wants for the window van version next time I'm in town? They're usually plain white monsters though...
That's my understanding. They don't do the conversions themselves. They farm it out to a place called Quigley 4x4 Conversions who does the actual work. Factory parts, except for bits and pieces they fab up to make it all work. Ford is one of three preferred platforms they work on. That price is just the professional 4x4 conversion part. Any other mods like bumpers or lifted suspension is extra.
