I don't like my Rancho RS5000X shocks

There's too many variables to really say which option is best definitively, rig weight, lift size, etc. But of the options I tried the Fox IFPs were significantly better than ranchos on mine, but I didn't chase options around very long since I knew the real answer was to get something tunable.
From savvy? Accutune? I think I've come across more people that liked 5100s than those so I'm pretty curious.
Even if they are better, are they 4x better? 4x better and worth losing an inch of travel?
Savvy doesn't tune shocks, so you might be correct.
A well tuned shock and all the work surrounding it is very much worth x times the cost of a 5000x. Assuming you are the type to appreciate such things.
They were substantially better. I assume you're getting at the cost differential with the multiplier - but if you're savvy about how you operate you can find them on the 2nd hand market. I was into the Fox IFPs for less than the ranchos cost.
I've only heard of people with pig rigs liking the 5100s.

I have steel bumpers and no spare, no other weight adders. My 5100‘s don’t get comfortable until you fill the tank and load it with gear. I’ve always said I could predict my fuel level from the way it rides.

I don't know who tunes the ones savvy sells, I just know they sell them. There are threads here about how much accutune sucks so I hadn't entertained them as a source. Is anyone around here currently running them? I'd like a better ride but not ready to jump into an outboard yet. Right now I have a ride that could be better, but could also be a lot worse. If I end up doing an outboard anyway, IFPs would have to be borderline life-changing to justify doing that just as a stopgap.
From what I know, Savvy spec's the tuning to Fox, and they are built that way from the Factory. No idea if that is still happening though.
who else tunes them, then? (I should say tunes them well) If they aren't available with a good tune then we're still waiting for someone to propose a better bolt-on alternative to the $50 Ranchos or Black Maxes.

@Mike_H , I'll have to revisit your tri-shock comparison thread again, but this thread was a valiant effort. It's sad that there are not better off the shelf options for our TJ/LJ's. I'm still running the Ranchos, but the ride is not ideal with a modest bias for a stock location shock.
