Things that annoy you?

Animals inside the house. Ultimately, it’s gross. With carpet it’s the worst. You know there’s pee and fur and s—- and funky microbes in there. You can smell it when you come in.

Letting animals at or on the table or share their plate.

I have a 150lb Rottweiler that lives in my house. And my living room has carpet, and that’s where he sleeps :)

I knew that one would raise an ire. No offense intended. Just something that annoys me. We have cats, outside cats.

We used to have a boxer-shepherd mix that stayed inside. He got to be trouble (that’s usually the owners fault, and I admit it!) After that we got kids and that’s enough in the house!

I presumed that this thread was about things that annoy you without regard as to whether or not it should or should not annoy others. I don't care if the things that annoy me don't bother you because they bother me and that's all that matters.

Brick and mortar stores that compete with themselves online. I am used to staples and certain other stores doing this, but I just left Home Depot to buy a Ryobi battery tire infiltrator that I saw on their website for $19.95 and showing my local store had 19 of them. I go to the store and it is $24.95 and they tell me to order it online and they will ship it free????? How does this make sense? I am sure the store manager is under intense pressure to keep up sales and corporate undercuts him online???

Related is the fact that stores like HD, Lowes, or Wallyworld state online they have XX number of units in stock, so you go to pick one up, only to be told they're out.

Exactly! Love machine just seemed a little annoyed that I was annoyed.

It’s not necessary for me to comment to him, but my station/position in our community requires me to be above reproach. So I make it a practice to always assure people of my intent. That way I’m consistent across every area of life

Yep. That's happened to me so many times that I rarely leave the house to go to the store now.
Amazon. clickety-click. 2 days max and no time wasted.

Good one! This pisses me off big time. I was at Home Depot a few weeks ago shopping for something and I pointed out to the cashier that it was significantly cheaper on their website. She told me, "Well, I can match the online price for you.", and I said, "Well yeah, but why are you guys having to match your own prices in the first place?", to which she had no answer.

I guess they are hoping that some people who aren't as online savvy won't bother looking up the price online, and just pay the full asking price in the store. Of course that seems kind of like bad business ethics to me.

Had a buddy that consistently bitched about gas stations and grocery stores changing their prices based on demand saying it should be illegal. Especially the gas prices that go up on big driving holiday weekends like Memorial Day. It didn't matter how many times I explained to him that it wasn't like this crap snuck up on you and you didn't know they were going to go up, he still wanted it to be against the law. That isn't how free enterprise works and he could not get it through his noggin. Of course, being from the UK, he did have a distorted view of how we should be doing things over here.

People in shopping centers that walk right out in front of you without even looking and "never" look your direction while you are driving like they have the right away!
Might I add people who push there shopping trolley out their car and then leave it the next parking spot next to their car when they pull out blocking a parking spot....and if they walk 10 feet there is a the trolley park...just plain lazy and don't care attitude.

Just thought of another one, where you go to a gas station and have to queue for gas and the car that's in front of you seems to be taking ages because they are doing there shopping, getting coffee etc, basically everything but pay for their petrol while we all sit in our cars and wait in line.
You see them stroll back to their car holding 2 bags of shopping and a cup of coffee totally oblivious to the fact they're holding everybody up....inconsiderate !!

Okay, get this. I ordered this today for my garage from Home Depot online:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...-Back-Wall-Red-and-Black-48-22-8560/206696096

Before I bought it, I opened the online chat and I told the woman that I was going to buy this, but I wanted to see if they would honor a coupon I had from Lowes for 10% off. She told me that Home Depot always honors those coupons, so she told me to complete the purchase, then give her the order number and she would deduct $70 from the order so that I was only charged $630 to my card.

So I complete the order and for shipping I just selected to pick it up at my local Home Depot store since they had 5 in stock. I give the woman I have on chat the order number and she gets back to me a few minutes later saying, "I am so sorry, but we can't apply the discount to an order that was completed for pick up in store, the discount only can apply to orders fulfilled entirely online and shipped to your door.".

She then tells me that they can however give me a free $70 Home Depot gift card instead to make up for it. I wasn't mad. I told her that would be just fine, since I buy plenty of stuff from Home Depot anyways. She apologized again and that was that.

So again, I'm not mad or upset, but I find it funny that Home Depot appears to be competing with itself in terms of brick and mortar vs. online shopping. I have to imagine this has something to do with corporate, but I find it odd that they can give me the discount if I had bought the toolbox online and had it shipped to me, but they can't apply it to my order if I buy it online and pick it up in the store.

I'm not sure this really annoys me at this point, it's just bizarre.

Nice purchase, @Chris! Ummm...to make this an appropriate post, let me say that I'm annoyed that this is yours, and not mine! :D

I needed something with a nice flat surface to mount my vices on. I can't tell you how many times I've thought to myself, "I really wish I had a vice". Well, I don't have to wish anymore. I bought a vice to go with it, and I'll mount it to the wood top on that bench. I feel that should work out pretty nicely, eh?

Definitely! I have a monster vice mounted on the corner of my work bench, and it is one of the handiest things ever.
