Right now I’m just using a Yaesu FT 60 portable. However, I plan on fully installing the FT2980R ASAP. Haven’t fully decided on where to mount it. I actually like that Rocky Road. May have to check into that.

Poison Spyder rear bumper braces came in.
They build really good stuff right here in the USA too.
Ok so I’m not sure if many remember the knocking videos and post I put up coming from the rear of my Jeep.
Back in the early summer/spring I put a pair of shocks on the back
This is what it looked like before:
Well it’s been fine until recently I started hearing the same noise again. I looked under the Jeep and I find that the shocks I put on has done the same thing on the same side!!!
What gives!? Is it that it’s just a cheap stock shock? This isn’t normal surely.
What else could be warn causing the shock to jump off the bushing?!?

Hmmm do you have an weird vibrations, Tires, driveline, other? Is your track bar tight on both ends? Is your rear diff centered? I can't think of a specific reason for this issue, but I would start there if it were me.

As is tradition, my CEL is throwing the P0133 code just before I have to have my annual smog check...
I know the sensors are good as I just replaced them with NTK’s.
Thinking it’s the dreaded exhaust manifold crack.
Here’s hoping it goes off again in the next few days.

I had the same exact issue and I replaced both 02 sensors from the factory but it still threw a code. After some testing and clearing of codes several times and a wiring diagram, I found a broken ground wire on the back of the front 02 sensor pigtail for the heated circuit. I took the pigtail apart and rewired in the ground.
Here are my symptoms just in case yours are similar:
I would get up in the morning and start my TJ, light would come on almost immediately. I would clear it, and it would be good the rest of the day. The next morning I would go out and the light would come on at first start up, and I would clear it, and it was fine for the rest of the day. So I figured since it only happened dead cold, that it was probably something with the heater circuit for the 02. I then decided that the next day I would immediately rev the motor up passed 2K RPMS and see what happened. Low and behold no light. This worked for about a week then I noticed it was hit and miss, so I had to fix it. My first thought was probably the ECU, but it was the same light over and over, and if it was the computer I figured it would be more random. So I ordered a factory repair manual and traced out the wires. I found the ground on the backside of the front 02 was actually pulled out and frayed of the pigtail.
I took the pigtail apart with a small screwdriver and soldered a new wire on to the old prong and fed it through the pigtail and soldered that new wire to the old wire and heat-shrunk it, and it has been good ever since. It has been about 7 months.

Installed led headlights! Im restoring this 97 SE, just got, 1st jeep. It looks great, was mechanically neglected tho so it's new brakes, valve job . Runs great now but for that dreaded intermittent occasional engine sputter hesitation. Love it tho, to say a Jeep is a blast is an understatement

Went and picked up my New Dana 44 rear and 35 front axles out of a 2005 for my 98 Sport. My spider gears in my 35 front are trashed. And the 3:07 gears suck for running my 33” KM2’s ...so now I’ll get a sweet Dana 44 upgrade with rear disc’s and have a extra front end...all for $750 and a bottle of Makers Mark!! BAMMMMM

Installed the MC bumper/tire carrier today. I know/feel this is over priced but they do make quality stuff. I really like the design of the dual mount tapered roller bearing. It lowered the spare so I have a little more rear viewing while driving.

Won't be long. You still thinking sometime Feb or March? Maybe you could coordinate a Texas group Hidden Falls trail run?
I’m looking forward to a run in Feb. I’ll put something together and see if we can stir some folks up.
