Installed a 1.25”body lift, replaced water pump. I had to disconnect the T Case linkage because the lever either kept popping out, grinding, or not engaging. I want to install a cable shifter, but, the install is over my pay rank. I guess I’ll have to hire that out.
I bet you can do it. There’s some good vids out there. I’m doing mine sometime the next two weeks. I’m sure I’ll do a write-up

I’d hold on to them for awhile at least. The bad thing is they’re 16” rims, limiting tire selection. The good thing is they look awesome, classic Jeep, If you do decide to sell, or go back to them, you could buy some spacers to mimic aftermarket back spacing to accommodate a larger tire. Your Rubi is super clean!

Finally stopped the back seat from squeaking all the time by spraying Kroil on the mounting points and lock location in the back and bam boom, no more squeaking.
Worked in the salt mines today. Green waste disposal.

Wanted to look into a potential leak into the cabin. Found lots of standing water on the passenger side (PO had told me there was a leak from somewhere). Decided to pull the carpet out and air it out. Very pleased with the simplicity of removing a TJ interior. Compared to removing my Lincoln's interior, this was a breeze. Less pleased with what I discovered under the carpet. While the passenger side looked almost new, the driver's side had substantial rust damage. I started looking at the underside, expecting to be further disappointed, but was surprised to see it was actually pretty clean. Frame is clean. Body mounts and braces are solid. Only the driver side floor pan is bad. Looks like it rusted from the top, down. After thinking about it for a bit, I realized that the PO bought it new in '98, but he didn't move to the PNW until 2001. He had been climbing in and out of it through three Michigan winters. The road salt from his boots must've taken its toll on that area of the floor pan. While not necessarily great news, I can live with that repair. Hell, it means I finally have enough reason to go buy that new welder I've been promising myself for the last two years. When Life hands you lemons......

That is 'sorta' good news...a fairly simple repair job too. As far as new toys go a welder is up there.

Nah! It's just the top tin. The braces are solid. Everything that's vertical is solid. Yeah, it's fugly to look at, but it's really not that bad at all. Gonna look for a replacement panel online. This ain't nothin' compared to some other rides I've dealt with. And God bless the poor folks in the Rust Belt and the nonsense they have to deal with. Besides, if you recall, this was an unmolested one-owner $750 purchase. I've got a loooong way to go before I have reason to get upset with this TJ.

Mate, I think the Southern hemisphere is effecting certain cognitive functions, lol! That is the craziest, funniest shit I've seen. I don't get out much.
