Jezza's Ford 6R80 Transmission Swap

Anyone know where on the Atlas the 4x4 switch screws into? Atlas says in the shift rail? I can't seem to find any good pics or instructions.

Ahhhh, maybe just look at the shifters???

;)

I never bothered to get that light to work on my rig. Is there something it does besides light the dash light?

I can't remember if I added that option on mine or not.

@toximus probably knows the needed details, it'd be in his thread too.

It was an option on the STaK's but I didn't have them install one on my t-case. Figured I'd know if I was in 4WD & as you said I could look at the shifters. It was another couple $$$ to get it added.

Thanks I'll check it out. I don't have to have it working, but I thought since Advance Adapters sent me the switch and the wiring is right there IDK. In other news the crossmember is done as well as a couple other items on my list. However, my kiddos brought me a fever home from daycare and I'm down and out. Probably won't make it back over there until next week.

All the parts are installed, and the Atlas is hung. Now I'm working on the crossmember as well swapping the rear end to a Dana 60.

Looks like you are going to run the atlas w/ MML but no body lift. Correct? If so, which skid and trans mount? Reason for the question: I have no body lift, 1” MML and UCF 2.5” skid w/ stock trans mount and am curious if I can fit an atlas?

edit: Nevermind. Upon closer inspection, I think I see a body lift.

It lives.

Oh, it lives alright. I drove it home tonight. It is still in learning mode for the transmission controller, so the shifting is weird. I also forgot to remove the factory rev limiter for park and neutral, so the engine is limiting at 4000 rpm. A couple little tweaks and it should be better. It is strange to drive.

How are you teaching it, via like paddle shift style where you’re holding the gears how you like?

That is even KEWLER. Look forward to hearing how it drives once you've got it tuned and all the bugs worked out.

The software learns the shift timing and torque convertor clutch application as you drive. It takes a few short drives to stabilize from what I understand. I don't have the paddle shifters hooked up yet ;)

Paddle shifters? DAMMIT! I’m starting over….

Great work Jez.

Kind of a boring video of it driving in traffic. I need to fix my tach input before doing any more WOT pulls. It keeps dropping out and messing up the shifting.

WOW that sure shifts nice. Great job and thanks for sharing. Now Guys like NashvilleTJ & me need ya to make a kit for our engines.
How are you going to deal with the PCM looking for the input from the 42RLE? One option I guess would be to use a manual transmission PCM.

I have HP Tuners set to manual transmission, and I shut off the codes for the Park/neutral switch. No check engine light right now. We'll see if that holds up long term, but if not I have a few other tricks up my sleeve.

In other news it defiantly works and makes power. I managed to break a stub shaft in my Dana 44 front diff doing 4wd burnouts on pavement. I wish I had a video, but I was working on technique for one when it popped. It still moves in front wheel drive low with the ARB locker engaged. The gears sound okay I think it just snapped the stub at the splines. I will pull the cover and inspect it when I change the stub.
