Anybody deal with Rokmen?

Those rock sliders are nice, but I am not falling for that again!

You know what sucks about the whole deal is I ordered the front bumper last September, and I got my refund in November, and @Jeeptrash said he/she is still waiting on his/her(no assumptions) bumper. If you go to the website today there is nothing about being on backorder or a wait or anything. Then if you just go ahead and buy it like you do on-line, you get no response until you give it a month and go where the hell is my bumper? Then Jeff tells you he has no clue when he will get the parts, and you could wait or get a refund. After a month, and you are on the phone waiting for them to pick up and you are thinking, man it has to be close. Then he says It is on backorder and has no idea when the parts will be available, but when they become available it generally takes another 2 weeks. It deflated me.

So I am not sure how long before I originally ordered mine they became unavailable, but it is January of the next year, and they are still on backorder. To me that warrants a note on the website.

I was also going to order the frame tie-ins for the rear also, but yep you guessed it on backorder too. So the rock sliders look pretty awesome, but I am not going to get my hopes too high.

So, what strikes me as odd about the whole "backorder / Supplier Issue" thing is that its a steel bumper. They are still making other parts, correct? They are a fab shop...They only need steel. The rest of the process is cutting, forming, welding. What on earth could they possibly be waiting for? Tooling maybe? The whole thing seems fishy to me.

So the rumor has it is that it is not the metal, it is the actual laser cutting. I think the supplier that supplies the metal pre-cuts it, and that tool is bad, or so they say, but ya it kind of seems fishy to me too.

Hmm.....I have some sources that can laser cut steel...Literally I can get business cards for 3 of them that are ALL in the city I live in. That doesn't add up. They need better management, apparently

Demand for the bumper isn't what is was, like many things for our TJ's. A simple phone call to Jeff should answer the question. After that, it's up to you to believe him or not.

What ever the deal was they took my money, and gave it back without any issues.

Well, I did call and get a answer and I believed it. The answer was I’d have it sometime in January, tomorrow is the last day of the month. Again, I’m not bashing them just pretty disappointed. If they don’t have steel to make their parts you’d think they would have time enough to reach out to people who paid months ago, I’d be happy with a reply all email saying something like. “Hey sorry everyone, your orders delayed but your business is important to us, if you want to cancel your orders just give us a call”. So really anything.

They have been in the game long enough they must be aware of how forums work and breed rumors. Also if I would have found this thread initially I wouldn’t have ordered from them at this time. How many people will see this now and change their mind on ordering from them in the future?

Ah ha you are one of the lucky ones that actually got one!

I thought I would buy the Warn to get me by till when/if the Rokmen became/becomes available, but I put so much work in stripping and repainting my Warn stubby, and it looks so much better than it did when it came, that I kind of like it now. I will probably just keep it now.

If Rokmen ever brings the front bumper back, and you want to sell that Warn Stubby, let me know, you have a buyer

Found a good deal on a Poison Spyder BFH stubby, $380 shipped. It’ll be here Monday.

He should tell you directly that is why they haven’t made and shipped them yet. You shouldn’t have to guess as to why they aren’t making any progress on it. Its very disappointing to say the least .

I got the PSC bumper put on the LJ last night, going to give a smitty 9.5 with synthetic rope a whirl and see how it does for me. I couldn’t pass up the price at $350 shipped. Pretty impressed with the quality for the price.
