I'm anti-iPhone. Not a Apple fan.
Are you intended to fill the channel completely? I was under the impression you're just supposed to lay a single, straight thick bead. that's why the pros use a nozzle with a V notch. Single continuous contact that spreads out from pressure, leaves no pockets for moisture/air/etc

All the videos I'd watched said to fill the channel completely so that was what I was attempting to do.
If I'd done just a continuous bead it wouldn't have spread out to fill the channel either.
If I have issues with it I'll pull it back apart and try again.
But I'll have a better caulking gun.
One tube of sealant is plenty for a jeep,
Sorry but that is not right at all,anytime you make (curly cuss)like that, water will sit in there and rust bad.most of the time(unless it’s really lose and rusty)you should leave what is in the car when you remove the glass,and cut an angle channel in it for the molding to lay in.then apply a bead about the size of your ring finger with the nozzle v notch cut so the little Mohawk is at the top to makes like an extra seal on the glass.I think you will probably need to remove that .and make sure you touch up any scratches under there,or you will have rust bubbly out of it in a few years.sorry for being so long winded but you will scratch the bed removing the w/s and trimming the bead for the molding to lay in,so many glass guys out there just want to get paid and do not make it right before the final set of the glass.
I had areas with rust so I had cleaned out all the old urethane so that I could clean the frame up and then primer the bare metal.
And again in my defense I'd never done a windshield like this before so it's a learning experience. All the YT videos I watched said to fill the channel completely. They weren't curlicues but it looks that way because I was trying to fill the whole channel by going back and forth between edges. And like I said I used two tubes and could have used one more since I didn't get the space completely full.
I don't know if it makes any difference of not but I also wasn't using glass, instead I have a product from Optic Armor. It's a polycarbonate that is specially treated.
I painted it with primer and then scuffed it up prior to installing the windshield.
On a total clean out you would just pinch weld primer(after drill with wire brush)and run a heavier v notch bead and what squeeze out will hold the molding in.we used to do plastic in race cars,we would paint a border on the glass to hide the sealer from showing through on the outside.that the only reason black Frits started in glass was to hide the sealer,before that it was rubber gasket and there was no need for a black fritt (boarder.
I would like to put rope in glass into my 2003 jeep TJ, and the reason for this is, I can do it myself and also the glass in a rubber seal doesnt crack as bad as the glue in type because when twisting the body as in off roading the glue in winsheild crack from the stress of the twisting. Sure the ones held by the rubber may squeek and leak but dont crack from a tiny little chip, especially if the chip is by the edge
