This is the VSS that came with an NP241 I bought from someone upgrading to an Atlas. He said that it plugged in directly to the wiring harness on his Jeep, but I can't find a plug or pigtail to match this oval shape. Most 3-wire plugs I've seen have more of a rounded rectangle shape than this oval. This is not the typical speed sensor that originally came with the transfer case because the PO had to make a spacer to get it to fit. My options are to find an original speed sensor (no luck there), or find a pigtail that will plug into this one and I can wire it to the existing harness myself.

Has anyone seen a 3-wire plug that looks like this?

That plug shape looks like what my 97 looked like. Although with the prong on the other side it would mean the wiring is reversed, which is common on the 97 sensors compared to 98+.

actually, no, it doesn't look the same does it. MAH BADZ.

Actually, you gave me the idea to look at other years and other manufacturers. I started doing image searches on Google and found this on Amazon - it's a GM camshaft position sensor plug. This might be it, or close.

The plug arrived, and it fits! I still don't know the part number of the sensor itself, but it's some kind of GM camshaft position sensor. I followed the instructions on this page to figure out which pin was which so I'll know how to wire this new plug into the factory wiring.
