It doesn't take long for the pcm to relearn new sensors, and I doubt having the battery disconnected has anything to do with the low mpg or the likelihood the Upstream O2 sensor is probably bad.
Mine sits for several weeks at a time, especially through the winter; and always starts.
No issues.
What was your mileage before it dropped to 5?

I took the jeep for a drive. Ran live data, here are the results:
ECT is 206 F
MAP 4.9
O2B1S1 (V) 0.6
O2B1S2 (V) 0.1
I have a smoke tester which I will use to check for engine vacuum leaks.
Jerry, I will order a new upstream o2 sensor regardless to be safe and it is good maintenance anyway.
Have you gps validated your speedometer?
I made the mistake of going with an Optima yellow top battery a couple of years ago.
I also installed a lot of little constant load stuff like USB plugs fused directly to the battery.
Mine was running rough and I charged the battery for a couple of days and it's running better.
Never discount a bad battery or grounds to screw everything up.
I need O2s. Can't find NTK/NGK for my 97 and am waiting for @hosejockey61 to report back on testing Walker brand.

https://www.rockauto.com/ has Mopar O2 sensors which are made by NTK.

Yup but north of $200! I can wait for hosejockey to test the $60 set. I know you are right but I'm just too much of a cheap bastard. And I'm never going to afford control arms at that rate.

I couldn't find Mopar O2s on RockAuto for some reason. Here is what I found on Advance Auto. What do you think of this?

FYI fuel sys 2 is just blank.
edit: so from what I gathered, it means the fuel system on bank #1 of the engine is in closed loop which means normal operation of the engine, therefore, no issues with the oxygen or mass air flow sensors. Am I right @NskLJ ?

I don't have my NTK numbers here but if NTK # 23506 is the correct model upstream O2 sensor for your TJ I'd definitely jump on it.
Closed loop refers to the engine computer using o2 and other sensors to control the fuel mixture. Open loop is when the engine starts up and not warm. The pcm used fixed tables to control the fuel mixture and timing. Fuel system 2 would be an engine with a second bank (v8). Verify your o2 heaters have power
Last time I looked, the Mopar sensors were in permanent backorder.... Maybe depends on the year.

Are you sure your odometer is recording correctly? I had a Mercedes that would "skip" and not count all the miles, of course that was an analog type with the wheels. You are aware that when you remove the battery cable the trip odo resets right?

I did not know trip odo reset! I did download GPS speedometer & odometer app to check.
