My muffler is getting pretty shabby and beginning to show pinholes. Cat is fine. I'd like something with tailpipe included and quiet, not interested in bragging that I've got a six-banger. What are you guys using?

Stock replacement stuff will be fine. Don't forget to order any rubber hangers or hardware. Inwould check rock auto, eBay etc

I recommend a Custom Muffler because flow equals go!

I just ordered the Walker kit from Rockauto, I know it's not gonna be welded, but it's what I can afford.

2nd vote for the Walker kit. I had put on a Magnaflow kit and the fart can sound was so loud it gave me a headache and listening to the radio was difficult. Then I did a full walker kit it's an easy bolt on from front to back and nice and quiet. :)

Thanks for the suggestions, will go with Rock Auto. Looks like I'll have to wait though, my build is 6/2/2000 and they are out of those.

Ordering a muffler or cat-back system online and having it shipped to you is the LAST way I'd go. First, you have to install it which is a harder job than most might understand. Second, if you don't like its sound like it's too loud, buzzy, etc. what are you going to do, UPS it back to where you bought it from? Not to mention not all will accept it back for a refund once it has been installed and you didn't like it.

Go to your local independent (non-chain like Midas or Meineke) muffler shop and they'll take excellent care of you for much less than an online cat-back would cost. I don't recommend chain shops like Meineke or Midas because they have corporate sales quotas to meet and they'll overcharge you. I just had my 3rd TJ muffler replaced 2 months ago after tearing a hole in it during my last offroad trip. It cost me $90 plus tax and it sounds fine and works great.
