What did you do to your TJ today?

Polished out my rear window, when the sun hit it you could not see out at all...used products from Chemicalguys.com and a RA 6.5" buffer. Took the window out and placed it on a flat table on top of a towel, taped off the edges. Cleaned the window with glass cleaner, clay bar next. Then started buffing with V34 and an orange pad, progressed to V36 and green pad then finished up with V38 and a black pad. Obviously wiping up in between with a different micro fiber towels.

Difference was amazing, now my windows were pretty much shot before, there are still some very deep scratches from PO neglect but at least they are very usable now. Very worth the couple hours of time.
My soft top windows are HORRIBLE!! I might have to look into doing this come spring time.

Finished up the BDS coils. Rides great, about the same as the Moog coils. I took a chance and went with a .75" spacer in front and glad I did because it is sitting about 1/4" rear high. I'd prefer a bit more but I will take that. Without the spacer it would be a solid 1" which is too much. It did induce some vibs from 20-25 and worsened a very mild vib at 40-45, both on acceleration. Ran it up to 75 and no vibs beyond 45. I already have a MML and am going to hold off doing anything with the t-case until it settles in. With winch/plate/bumper front is 14.5", rear is 10.5" coil lengths.

I like it. Looks really good. Great choices...

You are going to do this?? Your gonna hate it lol. I hate my crack!! It’s gonna be more works to take the damn thing off and more money so I’m just leaving it on. Why the crack??? Why!?? Don’t conform hahaha

Lol! It's only a half inch crack, so hoping I can live with that. The TT skid I want to go with requires at least a 0.5" BL, and so does my rear track bar relocation bracket so I don't have to add any more dang bumpstop than I already have. More than 2" of added bump stop on a 2.5" starts to become kind of counter productive. I may go with 3" springs in the future, TBD.

Okay, gents...I can't hold it in any longer. I've gotta ask: What is the issue with the gap created by the body lift? Doesn't some aftermarket company have a filler panel of some sort that blocks off this space, or fills the gap? Or maybe there's a bumper that has a lip that blocks it off? This "butt crack" issue is the subject of more comments than almost anything else on this forum (well, not really...). Is this the only area where the body lift is so evident, and is it strictly the aesthetics that have folks all twisted? If so, I'm truly surprised that some of the creative minds on this forum haven't come up with a viable solution by now. As for myself, I never even notice it, really. And if I should go the route of a BL, I will be looking at a solution to fill the void it creates if I one day look at it and go "Oh...well that looks like hell!" :D

Purely aesthetics lol. Would be nice if there was something to fill the gap.

I just threw up in my mouth a little @Starrs! Thanks! Cover that crack up mister! Lol! Some bumpers, ARB comes to mind, covers the hideous crack. You'll also see a gap in the wheel wells and the side of the jeep at the body mounts. On the good side, you and your buddy and sit at opposite sides of the jeep and wave at each other.

It's just a matter of preference. It doesn't bother me at all. You can get a rear bumper that covers the crack. Or you can do what @Starrs suggested to me and paint the section in the crack black so it is not readily seen UNLESS you are looking for crack! There is nothing noticeable at the front wheel well (to me). At the side under the doors you can see the pucks if you get low enough. And in the rear wheel well, you can see the color of your body between the frame and the tub, but that's another area you can paint black and it will basically disappear. It really doesn't bother me at all, there are tradeoffs, and for me, this is a very valuable mod for going ahead with my build, it gives me lots of options I wouldn't have without it. So, there it is folks, look at my crack in awe! It's beautiful!

Crack schmack!? :D They do make some "gap" covers for pick ups that I have seen. They look worse than the gap. 1" of body lift isn't bad, unlike the 3" everyone used to put on their full size trucks.

I 'sorta' did mine the same way about a year ago....my soft top windows aren't perfect but huge improvement once Id hit them with some car wax (it was all I had) it did the trick and not too many swirls showing either.
