So for $400-$500 more you could have a Dana 44. You could easily offset a big chunck of cost by selling your factory Dana 35 locally or eBay.$2931 to do the rear only, for a new Dana 44, 35-Spline, 4.56 gears, E-Locker, and ancillary stuff, sticking with drum brakes.

Notice that its a 489 meaning it uses the even bigger next gen Dana 44 ring and pinion which is a huge plus. Might want to consider that in your price comparison.
