Just looking if anyone has experience with a TNT truss for a high pinion Dana 44. I'm trying to see what people have done as far as the breather lines. When I put the truss over the top of the axle it's directly over the stock breather location.

Cut out a small bit of the truss and put a 45 degree fitting on...

I assume you're bringing the housing up to around 300-350 degrees, welding small chunks, maintaining temperature and wrapping in fiberglass blankets to slow cooling?

I don't have the TNT truss but on my HP44 I put a plug in the original hole & drilled a new one. Had to do the same thing on my CRD60 rear axle where the original breather hole was right where the truss I was using sat. It wasn't too hard to do and then I go to pick where I wanted the new one at.
Are you running it full width or narrowing it? Which version of the HP44 do you have?

The hp 44 is a 76 f150 with f250 8 lug outers paired with a jk 44 running a teraflex full float. Ive thrown around redrilling it and relocating it that sounds like the way to go most likely.

Thats not a bad idea on the Jk Teraflex full float ! And not bad for 1300 dollars considering one would spend 600+ on chromo shafts but with the teraflex kit i like it since it also has the rotors and caliper brackets so the "math" is already done !

For me I was thinking either snagging a "full float" axle from a newer 2024 jeep Jl one day or if i cant do that just go with a ford 9" with a 10" 3rd and make it into a full float to match my HP44 from a 78' ford f150 8 lug as well !
.....But for now ill settle with my HP30 and Stock Dana 44 combo 🙄

I picked the jk 44 up from a local seller for dirt cheap and scored the hp44 from a pick and pull for 100 bucks a long with the outers on Facebook for another 50. I've been acquiring parts for about a year and besides a set of coilovers and an sye I have pretty much what I need to start just trying to figure out the last few things as I go. Line location, brakes, steering are still in the works but they should fall into place.

Hell yeah man,we're alike I'm stacking parts to build my Lj,excluding coilovers !
Yeah I paid way too much for a hp44 😅 everyone wants 1-1200k for one but I got mines for 650 gears on the thing we're completely rust free outers work too and spin freely atleast, sold the wheels and spacers that were on it so I guess i can say I got the axle for 380 bucks 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah if you can find one these days they're still good axles for a tj. I know it's not a one ton but with one tons comes the weight and space I just didn't feel like dealing with. I took the 44 home in a town and country I wouldn't have wanted to do that to a Dana 60 from a 250. Only thing comparable for width would be a 44 from a jk Rubicon and I couldn't find one under 2k around me. What route did you go getting it under the front?

Are you gonna shorten it? I thought old school HP44s were much wider than JK axles..

The jk 44 is 65wms with the full float it puts me at 70 wms and the f150 is 65 and with 250 outers should put me at 67.5 wms if research is correct so unfortunately I'll just space 1.5 on each side to get 70 front & 70 rear.

Fill us in please..is the truss part of a fancy front suspension?

It is heavy fancy decoration that occupies space that could be utilized for good suspension. 😉
