Looking for new Shift knobs for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler X. To detach the knob, there is a bolt on top, under the shift gear printed #. Any suggestions? Looking for something red in color as i am creating a white, black and red contrast.

There's a lock nut under the plastic shift gear pattern, not a bolt.

actually, i know how to remove the knob, however, i cant find other knobs that have the bolt on top to unscrew when replacing a new knob. Most shifts knobs have that side screw and attachment to put on top of the stick shift. It is not compatible with my wrangler

The replacement shift knobs like I bought are threaded, so they don't secure to the shift lever like the factory knob. I got a jamb nut with mine so it could be aligned and tightened properly. I ordered one from Sickspeed and have been very impressed with the quality. As a bonus, it cost about half as much as others I looked at.

Use the existing lock nut. That's what I did
.
Mine is a delrin ball, internally threaded, there is no writing or shift pattern or markings of any kind on it, so I don't have to worry if it lines up right or not. It was about 25 bucks on Amazon 10 years ago or so. I love it. The delrin has a fantastic feel.

I second the Speed Dawg suggestion. Made in the USA, comes with the adapter (you need to select it from the options when ordering), $35. Or you can save a few bucks and fund the CCP while you're at it...
Use the lock nut you remove from the top as a lock nut on the bottom of the knob. Thread the nut on the shift lever, then thread the knob on. Get it aligned as you wish, if needed, and tighten the nut to the bottom of the knob.
