Novak was the company that supplied the shop with the trans, adapters and all the wiring and other stuff for install. What's stupid is the shop had never heard of Novak until I said something about them. So it makes you wonder what they would have done without Novak's help and parts?

That is scary.

I have contacted Novak and they had me take it to an exhaust shop and have them move the o2 sensors away from the collectors because they were only like an inch from them, and they're supposed to be at least 8" away according to Novak. Which supposedly that had told the shop at some point, but they never moved them. Oh, also the exhaust shop said I need to have the exhaust redone because the catalytic convert on it is the size they use for a, and I quote a Prius. Haven't gotten around to that yet. I had thought about just putting my old cats from my Hemi shaker on there...LOL. Guy at muffler shop said he couldn't do that but didn't say why.

This is what the Jeep looked like when I bought it.

Yep sounds like the shop that did your work really FUCK it up bad. Unfortunately if you aren't home enough to do the work I think you're going to have to take it to someone else to have them unfuck the work already done. IMO you're too deep into this to back out now. I know it SUCKS but I'd get it fixed and fixed RIGHT before driving it too much and screwing something else up. And believe me when I say I know all about this.

LOL, ya I hear ya..... I'm not OTR anymore but I still layover twice a week in a hotel but that should change with the next bids we have coming up hopefully. Hoping to get the short runs locally to the upper parts of the state so I can come home and sleep in my own bed. ha ha .... I honestly don't think it's got anything really to much fuckery going on other than the electrical gremlins and the tune which was supposedly done over and over. As far as I know the codes coming up are for it being Rich and once and a while. O2 sensors P0134 and P0154 not reading and a knock sensor P0327 low circuit or some bs...
P1133 and P1153! Oh, and a freeze frame DTC and malfunction indicator lamp status on. That is what keeps popping up.

I think if it was mine I'd take it apart and reinstall everything myself.
If the Novak "box" is supposed to talk to the Jeep dash I'd figure out what is going on there.
Then work your way through each issue from there.
As for cats can you just run a universal one?

I was thinking about doing that and ordering a new LS harness and just wiring it all to the LS and getting a digital dash cluster like 5632 did. Thus deleting to Jeeps PCM and harness.

Did you have to run converters for the signals? Or do they have one setup for LS swaps?

The Intellitronix gauges doesn't car what engine is in the rig. It fits in the TJ dash area but uses it's own oil pressure & temperature sensors, And then just needs a tach signal and a pulse signal for the speedo.

It's the same one I bought but just haven't decided if I want to use it or not yet.

So it’s not as simple as plugging into the engine harness and running.

@GotMud!
I know I still need to write up the wiring part, but making the Jeep gauges work is easy. Just take the factory Jeep engine harness and install Jeep oil and coolant sensors into the LS using adapters. The VSS and voltage is untouched from its factory configuration. Allegedly on 97-04 TJs you can take the Jeep crank and cam position sensor signal wires from the PCM end and tie them together with the LS tach output and you have a working tach…allegedly. Or use the Novak emulator. But ill send you a PM.

While yes it sounds simple IMO having to run 2 PCM's is a PITA. As far as the tach working I'm not sure about that. The emulator from Dakota Digital I'd heard was the easy way.

I'm honestly not sure why the shop that worked on GotMud rig couldn't figure out how to get the gauges working since as you said it really isn't hard.
