Jeep Wrangler PCM and module repair and replacement

Bit of a confession

I would not be on here if jeeps were not fun.

I dont need a vehicle that gets bad mileage, you climb up in , and needs constant tinkering from a practical standpoint— but lord I love it.

I bought it to get around the ranch and do small chores. I never thought I’d be building and tinkering with it all these years.

Top off and half doors are what we yearn for all winter. We’re almost there! An occasional trail is fun too! Go anywhere and everywhere!

Reminds me of the vaquero who got hired to work on the King ranch. The foreman was trying to explain how big the ranch was by telling him it would take all day to drive around it in a pick-up. The cowboy turns to him and says, Sí, my tio has a truck just like that.

I wish i wheeled my jeep more but just getting in and driving everyday makes me smile too.if the gf doesn't take it first,lol.

I learned years ago i don't need the biggest baddest crawler to enjoy a 4x4. And once i got into jeeps i realized they are the coolest,most versatile convertible you'll ever have. Smiles per mile is important!

I spent 20+ yrs backpacking the length of Ca. 10 yrs as a Scout Leader and then many more with my Scouting friends. This old body can’t carry a 40lb pack anymore. My TJ lets me get into the back country and still explore. I just got a teardrop and plan on doing some back country camping in the Sierras. My TJ allows me to still get out there. It’s my mobility scooter.

Be careful, if the fungus gets in your wallet it will empty it before you know what hit you.

What sort of orphan Jeep did you inherit ?

A year ago I bought a TJ that was sadly in need of some attention and was barely driveable. Had a good time wrenching and learning and now it's the daily driver for both of us, the truck sits unless we're going some distance or traveling with the trailer. Really nothing left to wrench and floated the idea of selling it and doing another one, she said no way this one is fine. A Wrangler was her idea.

I would never buy a Jeep, but I sort of adopted this one under unfortunate circumstances. So I will love it and take care of it the best I can.

I have daily driven topless and/or doorless junk, and at this point in my life no thanks. Hard top with doors and windows is awesome 😃

At KOH I unknowingly ran all the 4400 rock trails in my RZR following my peeps that were actually pre running them in this K5. Best K5 ever.

They made it a point to tell people I passed that were stuck, I was cool but gay :confused:😃

My wallet and the TJ are safe 😃

Because I am well versed in taking nice things and transitioning them to things that need to be trailered.

If I keep it small I wont ruin it.
 
This is my 4th Jeep, but 1st Wrangler. I don't drive mine in the winter to keep the salt off of it, since my last 3 Jeeps rusted out from salt. Winter is even more of a dark depressing time since I don't drive it. :LOL:
