several factors apply , filet or bead size desired, material composition.I’ve wondered about speed and heat with respect to warping potential. I assume a lower setting (power and wire speed) allows the heat the diffuse away from the work area more because it takes longer to do the same weld. So does that increase or decrease warping? As I said above, this is all new to me. My machine does have autoset (Miller multimatic 220 AC/DC) but you don’t have to use that.
heat sink is the enemy....... heat up a large area and you get more movement, your puddle should be cooling as soon as you move from it if your runnin a Haley's comet and have a 1/2' of glowing red tail your to hot.....
