Tom Wood's Custom Driveshafts

Just a shout out for the team at Tom Wood's Custom Driveshafts!
I had this weird squeaking noise going on for weeks and couldn't figure out what it was. It would go away after the first mile or so and was really aggravating to troubleshoot. Turns out the double cardan was falling apart on my front driveshaft (stock shaft with a 4" lift). Had quotes around $600-$800 locally to rebuild the original or replace. Called the crew at Tom Wood's, measured the distance from yoke to yoke as instructed, and had a new driveshaft at my door in days.
If you need a new driveshaft, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. A quality product with great customer service at a great price. Thank you to the crew at Tom Wood's for the outstanding job!

I've been using Tom's driveshafts for probably 16-17 years now, I'll never use anyone else's. There are some driveshaft shops that can build high quality shafts like Tom does but the pre and post-sales support Tom and his staff provides would be very hard to surpass.

I've been using Tom's driveshafts for probably 16-17 years now, I'll never use anyone else's. There are some driveshaft shops that can build high quality shafts like Tom does but the pre and post-sales support Tom and his staff provides would be very hard to surpass.

Although I have not purchased a TW shaft, Tom is an excellent human being and has helped me with some technical questions. I will probably replace my rear shaft in the not too distant future, and when I do it will be a Tom Woods drive shaft.

I first learned about Tom Woods from the old forum I used to frequent JeepTalk.net. They had a Jeep of the month contest similar to what we have here. The difference was that Tom Woods would sponsor the contest and the winner would get $50 gift cert. There was also a Jeep of the year contest that was basically one of the 12 monthly winners and would win $100 gift cert.

We used to use a very well known local shop, couple of them in fact. They got to the point where they were charging as much or more for a rebuild as a new one even though we had a call us if it exceeds X amount policy in place. Started using Tom after that and couldn't be happier. We've used probably 25-30 shafts from him with zero issues in the last couple years and the turn around time from order placement to the shaft sitting here ready to install is typically 2-3 days compared to the 7-10 days for the local places and then we have to drive to pick it up for more money.

It seems terrible to me that I have at least 6 driveline shops within an hour of me and I have to go out of state to get a quality product at a fair price with good customer service. That is nothing against Tom, just pretty much BS that local shops can't get it together to take care of business and someone from another state can deliver a better product, cheaper, faster, and with far better support.

Same deal here in MD. You would think a local shop could take care of you. Back in the 90's I had a custom shaft made for my '67 Mustang at a local shop for a great price & turnaround. Not so much for the TJ. Gotta love the power of the interwebs. I'll be upgrading to a SYE sometime in the near future. Won't even look anywhere else; I'll be contacting the gang at Tom Wood's for a new rear driveshaft.

Good to hear as I am a couple weeks from a SYE and am always nervous about the driveline part.
