Should It Stay or Should It Go?

I'm swapping out my factory soft top for the factory hard top, and on one side (driver) the rubber bumper stayed attached to the soft top frame when I removed it, and on the other side (passenger) it stayed attached tub body.

So, does it stay on for the hard top or leave with the frames until next summer? Honestly, I don't remember and the 2003 TJ Mopar Parts Guide is no help. Replacing the seals, etc. and would rather get it right the first time.

Thanks in advance.

Mucket seal. Needs to stay on the tub for either top.

Oh shit, ive been taking mine off for the hard tops the last couple years, maybe thats the wind I hear

They seem to come off when pulling the soft top door frames. If one side didn't stay attached to the tub, I probably would have reinstalled the hard top without them. So, we probably are not alone in this.

Directions for Bestop soft top say you don’t need the mucked seals for their soft top

Their door surrounds come with a piece of spongy foam in that area - that doesn't stay in place all the time.
You can't see it w/ the side windows installed, but once they are removed you can see the foam.
I just had mine off yesterday and had to realign the foam before putting it back on.

My Bestop instructions said to remove them, did the first summer, door surrounds rattled like crazy
Been leaving them on after that, no more rattly
