I have a hard top on my LJ, but if Safari tops were available with the top roof panel windows I'd buy one. I love Defenders too.

What part of FL you in btw? I used to live in Vero Beach for a few years on the coast.

Those Gr8tops Safari Tops are awesome. The price is what stops me in my tracks, however. Ouch! Found one used one, but it was so heavily damaged that I didn't think it was worth fixing. Not sure that anyone did, as I believe he ended up throwing it out. Still, I love what they do to the looks of the TJ. Gorgeous rig!

Thanks, the are pricey but they are unique to and the Barn Door on the back makes it very usable

Bolts on in the normal bolt holes and clamps on the windshield frame. Two people can put it on, the back barn door comes off with (4) 1/2” bolts probably 150 pounds.

Thank you so much! Took 6 months on the paint. I am 6’1” and I have 5 inches above my head now. Much quieter inside. She loves it even more than she did before!

What did you pay for that paint job? If it looks 6 months, I'm assuming that it's a damn good paint job! That's the way to do it!

I painted it myself in my garage. These are som pictures at different stages of the process. Sealer, then Basecoat, then clear Clearcoat prior to wetsanding with, 1500, 2000, 3000 and finally 5000 grit paper prior to buffing. Lots of hours but I am really happy with the way it turned out

No way that was his first time painting. That is a top notch layout of the finish. That's a nifty little cross flow booth you constructed too! A clean painting environment with good visibility makes a huge difference in the end result. Well done sir!

Thank you, yes, built the cross flow booth from watching “Comet sixty two” on YouTube. He had a lot of good ideas I put into this booth. Hope his car came out good, I don’t think he ever showed his final paint job. But a smart guy.

I hope to do something like this to my TJ someday, just repaint it the same color as it is now, but just make it a brand new paint job.
