PH4 Bits

@mrblaine, I need some PH4 bits that have good engagement in our stainless fasteners commonly used on the Savvy MUA and corner armor. Mine keep breaking. What do you recommend?

Edit: I have used this with a 1/4” hex drive impact driver, but only lightly.

I suspect he is after something in a 3/8" square drive socket that will work on a 3/8" impact. Or if he isn't, he should be. I've tried many, best have been the longer ones from Craftsman which are hard to find or have been. After that, the cheap Chinesium versions are worthless. We have moderate success with the Blackhawk stuff and buy a handful at a time because all of them eventually fail.

Don't buy Tekton. I bought three, immediately broke two, and returned all three.

I ordered 3 of the 3/8” impact socket Blackhawk’s that @mrblaine recommended. Should be here in a few days and I’m hoping I can just get my armor off. LOL!

I have this one that has lasted a few slider removals with my ryobi 3/8 impact. It was an Amazon purchase but I may their torx for the corner armor install

I find that a handheld impact driver works best with phillips style bits. The bit has less tendency to slip out. Also the Pozidriv (PZ) bits grip better.

Well, I broke 2 already. I still have 3 fasteners to remove. 1 of the bits broke immediately. The other one worked on about 7-8bolts. I think they’re galled. Blah.

So far I haven’t broken one that I recall. Although, I don’t have a ton of screws to deal with, just the 4 on the back of the Savvy engine skid where it mates to the transfer case skid.

It is almost impossible to get them tight enough without cam out ruining the fastener if you do it manually.
