What did you do to your TJ today?

This weekend I went to intall side steps, it's a big stretch to get in and out. Ended up pulling out all the carpet to wash and cleaned down the inside of the body. Got everything back together minus a few pounds of dirt, fixed the drivers door handle that was loose. I had no idea how much work went into cleaning and I didn't do the best job.
How's the noise level now? And does it help with keeping the cab a bit cooler? Bought my jeep with no carpet and the dead slow group rides turn my jeep into a slow cooker

I didn't run it without the carpet but I did make note of the sticker on the floor that warned of being burned if the carpet and small piece of insulation was not installed properly! Right now it's getting cool enough that I have to have the heat on in the mornings. Also just found out that the heated seats work. Will be nice in a few few months!

There is a noticeable difference in cabin noise.
I cant speak to any temperature differences yet since it's been raining a lot recently.
I will know more as for temperature when the outside air temperatures return into the 90s.

Continued with the sound deadening.
Removed the passenger and drivers door panels, removed the water proof membrane and wiped down the inside of the door panels.
Due to the limited access holes in the door; I had to cut the sound deadening into sections to install.
There are numerous braces inside so I was only able to apply the material to approximately 80% of the areas.

Is this worth the cost and effort if I only run no top no doors? I have thought about it for the purpose of increasing sound quality of my audio system
Completed applying the mat sound deadener to the passenger and drivers doors.
Went for a drive and the overall decrease in local road noise is quite noticeable when the radio is on; a lower radio volume setting and clearer richer audio.
What I also noticed is while holding a conversation with my brother; I can hear him much easier.
At highway speeds the road noise coming up thru the floor pan has been decreased where I can more easily hear the music coming from the front and rear speakers.
If you are driving the Jeep with no doors or top; I would expect that applying sound deadener would accomplish very little to no change.

Nope and that's what I run most of the time, safari top, 1/2 doors or no doors.
So I was about 2mi from home yesterday and suddenly the transmission started making a grinding noise on deceleration. Turned up the stereo to try and fix the noise. Didn't help.

my system rips - I've always thought its strange that people put sound deadening material in jeeps - thats why i asked the question
I agree. Sound deadening doesn't help with interior noises caused by passengers (wife/kids). Stereos always do.
p.s. My wife used to complain that she had a hard time climbing into my Jeep. I lifted it another 2" and added 35s to test that theory.
Had to keep my Jeep medal safe until it's mounted. Maybe @John Cooper can paint it for me. If not, I'll ask @Zorba for some quality red nail polish (clearcoat too).

Nail polish wouldn't turn out well, rattle can it. That's what I did.
