Rock Sliders / Rocker Guards Guide

Whats the best way to fix a pre-existing hole?

I need a nutsert in that location.

Drill larger holes for larger nutsert? I was thinking a spot weld will work then drill to the correct size hole.

The beauty of the rotabroach is you can drill that with a centering jig to 17/32 and then set the nutsert. Just drill that with the 3/8 broach first to locate it perfectly.

We use a 5ish" long piece of 1/4" x 1.25" flat bar to make the jig. 1 hole at each end for exact fit sheet metal screws of your choice. 17/32 hole in the middle. Line up the hole to center it exactly on the 3/8" hole you used the broach on to locate it perfectly, screw that in place with the 2 sheet metal screws. Sometimes you can get it close to an edge so you can clamp one end, but that's pretty rare.

Yup. Quality tooling is expensive. No way around that.

Specialized quality tools like the Rotabroach also provide a level of precision and craftsmanship that can make a meaningful difference in how good the final product is.

And that’s why I’m going with what Blaine suggested.

Me and precision are opposite but his method will give me the best chance at fixing this.
