What's your go to shoes for wheeling?

Too much still my boots are like 100$ typically. I'm too hard on the upper half of shoes fabric won't last long at all

What the heck, you sitting on them and sliding down the rocks.???.

Pointy rocks out here idk. I always end up tearing up the top half of the toe box on the front and sides. And I tend to peel the sole off from the front too

Stop dragging your toes lol

In all seriousness though, this doesn't happen to me but I can see it, for whatever reason I bump the toe on my hiking boots. I think it's just that I don't wear them enough for my muscle memory to get used to their bulk.

I don't drag my feet idk why but it has happened to the last 3 pairs!! My "everyday" boots have a leather toe, my more "work" boots have a rubber toe that wraps a lot higher and that seems to survive a lot better. Though I don't wear them as often

Rainbows anytime I can get away with it.
On Cloud 5 Waterproof if there's nothing crazy that needs ankle support
Keen NXIS Evo Waterproof if I do need ankle support. I would consider On's hiking line if I replace these.

My work boots are pull-ons and just aren't as good hopping around rocks off road.

Spring/Fall, I wear my everyday slip on Double H boots. In the summer I wear Altra Olympus sneakers

70% of my wheeling is in the Mohave Desert exploring old mines and historical sites the rest is in the Sierra. Sandals or athletic shoes don’t give me the protection I need. Too many rocks, boulders and shards of glass and metal that require sturdy footwear. Also I like a higher boot for ankle protection. You never know when you’ll have to hike out of the wilderness after a break down or climb up a mountain to explore. Sandals and athletic shoes work fine for going to the store and back.
I prefer Timberline boots. They hold up to the abuse and I know their fit and comfort. I’ll buy several pairs online when on sale and can find size 13s.
