Folks tend to be very annoyed by HOW you say something rather than take a pause to understand WHAT is being said. We are being conditioned to be outraged by "proper" pronoun use rather that stop and see if someone has gender appropriate genitalia which dictates the actual pronoun.
We also have a few oddballs who at times think because we tolerate them, that also means we celebrate them. We don't, we put up with it because they are our oddballs, but they are only here by our grace, not because we actually agree with them being odd. You're a wierdo, but you're our wierdo.

mrblaine, are you lefthanded by any chance? The reason I ask is the left side/right side brain thing. Supposedly, left handed people use the logical side of their brain more than right handed people, and present and process information more directly. My mother in law used to say, she wasn't left handed, but of the right mind.
The left hemisphere is more logical, and it controls the right side of the body.
My understanding was just the opposite. Either way, the theory is about left handed people being different than right handed.

That is probably more true of kids and young adults today than it was 40 plus years ago. Kids who started showing left handed tendencies were thought to have something "wrong with them" and many were forced to relearn to be right handed. Good old social and cultural superstitions at work back when science didn't have a clue how the brain worked. Hell, we're still just barely touching the surface as to what the brain is capable of.

I am very left brain dominant, right handed, shoot right handed and am very right eye dominant for them that understand such things.

I’m left handed, this could explain a lot. I’m gonna pass this information on to my research self and see what I find.
Edit; but I shoot, throw and hit righty. I always blame my dad for that though because he didn’t know how to teach a lefty.

I grew up in that time frame. Technically I’m left handed but do so many things right handed.I do write left handed but i golf right handed because there were no left handed clubs at school when I learned. I bat right handed because all the other kids stood on that side of the plate so I did too and I didn’t know there was such a thing as a left handed glove until high school.I shoot rifles left handed and shotgun right. Pistols either hand, but predominantly autos left and revolvers right. We may have a predisposed dominant side but our brains can adapt as necessary. I say I’m flexible and my friends say I’m confused.
I was thinking “confused,” but I’m open to “ambimindstrous.”
My grandson started out life right handed, then broke his right arm and learned to be left handed, now he is ambidextrous. He was a switch hitter in little league. He is also a very intelligent and respectable kid not to mention handsome, and I'm not just saying that because he's my grandson, it's really true!

Indeed. Just because you aren't eloquent in delivery doesn't mean you don't have something to say, or something worth hearing. I prefer and respond well to "direct" because it's an efficient way to communicate, many do not.
