What did you do to your TJ today?

Never fear, @John Cooper knows where all the best mud is down that way, he's the Mud Whisperer... 😀

That wasn't mud, it was his favorite "watering hole". You should have seen him when he was on steroids and stole @AndyG's duck. 🤫

What did I do to my 1997 TJ today? Nothing but for the last 3 weeks, my cousin and I worked on putting new shocks on the back. Two broken bolts stymied us. We tried everything we could think of but nothing worked. Finally, I bought about $200 of solid carbide drills and safety equipment. The solid carbide drill bits went through the broken bolts like drilling through cheese. I ran in new bolts and put locknuts on top just to make sure. A little hint: You don't have to cut the bed to reach the top of the bolt. Just pop out the plastic fender guard and you can reach the top from there.
Sometime after monday, I hope I'll be able to report that I have new front shocks on and new hood latches.

Got the hub assembly completed today...

...although I do wish there were a dust cap for this. Stainless cotter pin and a liberal coating of WD-40 should be a bit better than a poke in the eye with a mascara brush.

Then on to installing the new brake calipers. The brake pads only had about 25K on them, so I went to re-use them. Got the passenger side done, but found THIS when I went to do the driver's side setup:

Something was crooked with the old hardware, not surprising considering how bad it looked. So, I replaced the pads on both sides with new Centrics.

Everything bolted together. New soft lines already attached to the new calipers, will attach the other end next - as soon as I find my vacuum bleeder which I put someplace stupid because I don't know where it is. Hopefully, the BMB lockout tool is in with it, because I can't find that either!

Did someone spraypaint the rotors black?

Put a new set of plugs and a new coil pack in the LJ today. Easy peasy. The old one were running gaps around .070 or so (loose on .060 and .080 wouldn't fit) They'd only been in the engine since late 2018. Probably nothing wrong with the old coil pack, but it was on there as long as the plugs. I did put the old coil pack on my parts shelf though, just in case.
