I took my 4.0 apart to put in new pistons because I have piston slap. Found this on the head. On the first cylinder. I’ve gotta replace the head, right? I want a cheap but good option, I was really not ready to be spending hundreds of more dollars on top of what I have for pistons. What recommendations do yall have?

450ish miles driven. Got 15.5, 15.4 and 16 mpg on fuel with the new mods. 33s, 4.56.
You can pull the valves to confirm - but that certainly looks like a crack.
Cheap options would be a u-pull-it or FB marketplace - you can likely get a block + head fairly cheap which should be better than just grabbing a loose head someone has had laying around. Although that's not fool proof that they didn't overheat the engine and warp it some, etc. FWIW
