As someone with a passion for film making, the transition to vertical has been a cancer on all forms of media.

What’s worse is that the user feels like they’re the voyeur in this relationship, when in fact they are the ones being viewed. You just end up with two stalkers silently staring at each other. There is no way to make that healthy.

Agreed. It drove me nuts when it started and it still drives nuts. Gimme a fucking 4.00:1 aspect ratio! Of course, we haven't seen that since 1927, so I'm happy with 2.76:1.

I think the worst part is that it's easily solved by rotating the damn phone when shooting.

It's one thing if going for an artistic look or shooting portraits, but when shooting scenery or even pictures and video to sell a vehicle...maybe frame the subject...

I got the ‘Tism. Which means I can hold my face perfectly still regardless of emotional state.

Knowing this about the facial mapping, years back, I decided to study TikToks punishment and reward content cycles while seeing how much I could game user input to control my feed. Without the facial mapping my algorithm would degrade in comical ways. I got banned 3 times.

I always knew when a ban was coming because my user input meant I only interacted with and pursued cute pet videos. Refusing anything else.

In the 72 hours preceding a ban I would suddenly be slammed with extreme left and right wing content in alternating cycles. Then I would go to log in and my account would be erased for “bot activity”

I think the software could tell I was less a user and more of an analyst.

Was there last year at one of the scenic lookouts when I noticed one of my buddies and his then girlfriend standing in a place that would make a great pic. I offered to take their pic and when I turned her phone sideways - you know, to capture the grandeur of them standing atop one of the 7 wonders of the world - got scolded by the galpal for not taking a verticle shot. We had a little back and forth and, clearly purturbed, she 'educated me' that shots for 'the Gram' have to be vertical.

I did; actually took a couple of each. I just thougth it interesting that a good pic of the amazing place and people she was with wasn't even a consideration, just a cutsy shot for the Gram and that she was annoyed I'd suggested the landscape.

I've had that discussion a time or two as well - "If I'm taking the picture, I'm doing it correctly. If you want vertical garbage, get someone else..." But I generally beg off - the last time I tried taking a picture with someone's smartphone, I ended up taking 57 instead of 1. Haven't a CLUE how that happened, but I tell people they're better off getting someone else to do it.

Finally pulled the trigger on the replacement center console Quadratec sub speaker.
6 years ago when I bought the Jeep , it was blown. I removed it and never replaced till today!

Wow it sounds great, never thought it would change THAT much.
Factory everything. Now just need to find some good music on the radio.
