Been MIA for a bit. Flight lessons and training for my Ironman next month have had me swamped!
Helped my dad fix his clock spring that failed that caused his horns to get stuck on in the middle of my town. Which was extra loud since it’s a 99 and has the dual horn setup.
Also helped him install some of the speaker system for Father’s Day that was from his best friends TJ that he gave us back in 2020 that started our addiction.

Ordered some Champion sparkplugs 1 and 2 ranges colder. I'm not particular to Champion, but they're available and the numbering system is sensible. Currently running Bosch double iridium (range 8 in Bosch).
Stock is RC12YC. RC9YC is 1 step down, RC7YC is 2 steps.
Having bumped compression up from 8.7:1 to 9.5:1 I've got an area in the timing in my tune that's just on the edge of breaking up. Rather than back off timing there, I'm going to try the colder plug(s) and watch that they don't build up carbon.

Kicker makes a really solid sub that fits in the center console. I think I found the reccomendation here.
I paired mine with Kickers recommended AMP and mounted it to my steering column with the Taboo Customs plate. Combined with the sound bar and dash Kicker kits Quadratec offers, then finished with a Kenwood Excelon head unit in Tuffys overhead console.
All of it makes for better sound than anyone expects from a TJ, but the easily pawned parts are too hard for tweekers to get to. In spite of living in the most homeless plagued part of the city, they have learned to leave my Jeep alone.
Not out of respect, they just know I leave the windows and doors off SPECIFICALLY because there is nothing there for them.
Just got a kill switch installed on my TJ. Tested it out and it is working.

I removed the worn out, faded, painted, and faded/again roll bar cover & replaced it with the one from Bestop.
Well made - one area had a missed stitch, but I was able to fix it for less effort than an exchange.
It fits quite well over the factory foam and looks good once installed.
That’s a win.
Up next: front seats & probably a custom light in the center console.

Finally got a chance to install my backup camera, backup LED cubes, and my subwoofer (Kenwood KSC-SW11).
The Kenwood fits nicely under the front seat.
It's not going to rattle windows or anything, but it is enough to make music sound great.

Ordered a slider bushing kit so that I can get these seat bases back up to spec before I install the new seats.
TBH, I thought I was replacing the entire base with these adapters from Bestop, but they bolt onto the factory base, so that means the sliders need to be solid.
