In the past while, I have noticed something about the TJ forum. Its active. Quite much so. Trying to find any info about my TJ is easy. And I know a number of people are going to have responses immediately. On the other hand, trying to find info for my truck I just bought (2002 Ram 1500) is difficult and confusing at best. Same with many other things l have wanted info for over the past long while. Snowmobile, Subaru, motor bikes, etc.

Not to mention we have all the literature for our Jeeps available for free, (its on here somewhere, l forgor where tho) and unlike any other forums I have seen, this one is easy to use and understand. Anyone else feel the same?

Generally, I'd agree.

Most forums that I frequented 10-15 years ago have died an agony filled death. Jeepforum or Pirate were places I frequented, but when they were sold off and in my opinion castrated their novelty died with them.

I'm glad WTJF is holding on.

Yeah! From old forums that are still up most posts are well over 10 years old. Nothing is very active. I for one will gladly continue to support WTJF.

Chris did a good job aggregating a ton of knowledge here, which I presume attracted the people to focus on this forum. Not only do we have the masses, we also have incredibly experienced people like Blaine (Black Magic Brakes), Shawn (Tom Woods), Mark (Wrangler Fix), Mike (BFH Garage) and probably a bunch more I'm forgetting.

The Nissan forum for my beater is dead, so if things aren't covered already I'm on my own figuring things out on there anymore.

Quite true. @Chris and Co. have done a very good job! And all the other well known members and contributors. This is one of the few online spaces I know where some people refer to each other by name at times. Glad I can be part of it. Even if every Jeep on here is older than me…

Part of what made some of those other forums suck so much is that they all got bought out by Vertical Scope and Internet Brands. When they were privately run they were much better and much more active.

I have 3 forums that I frequent, this one, troublefreepools and thelawnforum. They are all great with a ton of activity including experts in their respective subjects. I think one thing that helps this forum continue vs a 2002 1500 ram is the fact that there are a lot more people into purchasing and maintaining the TJ vs the ram.

I agree. The layout is easy to navigate and search. The collective knowledge here is fantastic but one of my favorite things about this forum is the lack of advertisements. I find that other forums are packed with so many ads, it's almost impossible to navigate and actually find anything. When I'm looking for anything to try and figure out something on the '99 Ranger it's nowhere near as east as it is here. I do think a lot of that does have to do with what @RHanna mentioned above as well.

Sweet! Thanks, I will take a look. How about for 3rd gens? My ‘02 is the change over year/style. I got a 5.9 magnum/46re in a 3rd gen body.

My answer is always the same, "no".

Someone would have to pay me millions of dollars to even consider it and there's no way that would ever happen because there is no world in which it is worth millions of dollars.

I agree, the TJ is a somewhat unique vehicle. It and the YJ do standout from other Jeeps post 2007. They have a sense of style.

Right? As a somewhat newish member, I get a good laugh from some of the old threads. And wonder at what I missed when some of the long standing members reference stuff long before l joined.
