What did you do to your TJ today?

Got the transmission almost in! Darn front transmission line fitting stripped out :BangHead:. Too late to run to the store for another one. Only have to re-connect the shift linkage, stick the T-case back on and fill everything up with ATF. Oh well, there is beer in the fridge and I needed something to do tomorrow!

Started working on adding a built in garage door opener until I realized my soldering iron is junk. Ordered a new one so now I play the waiting game. Next week is going to be busy since the iron, my stereo and Brown Dog bracket/mount should all show up.
where are putting the garage door opener? I won't put one in mine...but then again I have a half door and soft top only.

I'm still debating on that. I was going to drill a hole in the center console and put the button there but then I started thinking about putting it under the dash where I could just easily reach under and push the button. I'm not quite sure, I can't decide if I want to drill a hole or not.

Fully removed the soft top and roll bar padding. Ol’ Blue is going to the detailer on Monday for paint correction and orange peel. Controversial, I know. That could be money for off-road mods! It sees more pavement than dirt.

I kinda like the look without roll bar padding!

Got some teaser pics from the detailer. This is the passenger fender before and after. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow.

I installed a new front driveshaft from @Tom Wood at www.4xshaft onto my '04, I went with all sealed Spicer 1330 u-joints. It was a PITA getting both of my skidplates off but worth it. Which also gave me a chance to replace my transmission temperature gauge's sender which went bad within 5-6 hours of drivetime.

I asked Tom about just rebuilding it but after he assured me the cost wasn't all that different for a new one, I took his advice. I was starting to sweat my front driveshaft's aging CV joint since if it seizes, it can cause the transfer case to literally explode. And with my 241OR tcase, I just couldn't take that chance. Feeling much better about driving it again lol. So now I finally have matching Tom Wood driveshafts front & rear and loving it.

I hadn't talked with Tom in a couple years and it was sure good to chat again with him, he's such a great guy. We must have been on the phone a half-hour with only maybe ten minutes devoted to my driveshaft lol. If anyone ever sees a Tom Wood Custom Driveshaft booth at a 4x4 show, stop by to see if he might be there to meet him, you'll walk away having just made a new friend, he's that kind of a guy. No exaggeration. :)

Would love to see it in the sunlight when you pick it up.

Very happy with the results. The paint was in really rough shape when it went in. PO’s didn’t give much love it seems. It still has a lot of imperfections, but that’s part of what makes it a Jeep. It went from a dull black/blue color to a much nicer brighter blue with mirror finish.

damn that came out amazing. What a difference huh? Love the mirror finish. Like it was right off the showroom floor.

You might’ve already said this but how much did this end up costing you? My paint needs some love
