I bought a 2006 Sport, 48,000 miles no rust, but I definitely paid for it.

@CybrSlydr did a PPI when he ought his TJ in TX, he was in OH...then flew in and drove it home....worth the $200+ in this case, just talk to them first and make sure they are familiar with YOUR concerns
Nope, but I did have some slight surface rust on the mounting points for the transfer case skid. Took it down to bare metal, painted over it, and it's good as new. I guess that's a common area, even on the nearly immaculate frames like mine!
Sometimes you got to look in the cracks and crevices!
Any members out there that are in Jacksonville FL area that could go look and drive it for me?

I bought my LJR from a private party in North Carolina sight unseen, got a PPI from Rubitrux which was close by, they caught most stuff but not everything. Most shops will just charge an hour labor for a PPI. As it was a private party I did paper work and verifications like crazy to try and CYA. It was stressful as anything (I paid, then had it transported via car carrier too) but it worked out well and I got a good deal on it, it was a great find so it made sense for me ( I could resell it here and make money even with the transportation IMO) the things I have found weird/wrong with it so far have been fairly simple fixes.

Actually the sales manager at the dealer suggested the PPI he said it might put my mind at ease!
Yeah probably create a new thread with Florida as the prefix in that section. That’d probably get the most eyes on it.

Bingo - make sure you don't get one from just anyone. Do a little digging - I got a guy that went out there and took about 3 hours to go over it. Guy sent me pictures of problematic areas as well as a copy of the line-item report where he tested everything.
Made spending the money to fly down and drive her home a lot easier.
