...when you put off cleaning the interior because you know it's just going to fill up with dust and pine needles the next day anyway.

...when you know just how much air is in your tires right now, and how much to let out for the conditions.

...when you can glance at a rock and know whether it'll clear or not.

...when you know within a couple of weeks when the next time you're due to change oil, differential, transfer case and transmission fluids. And you know the specs and best place to purchase them.

...when you can argue for hours about tires with the Toyota folks, and know it's meaningless, you'll still out wheel them.

...when you hear a new noise at a stop light, and relax because you realize it's actually coming from the car next to you.
