Are there any seat covers that hold up?

I picked my jeep up a little less than 3 years ago. A few months later I put new seat covers on. I wanted something that would last. I researched as best I could and ended up spending big bucks on Wet Okole.

They looked great and the fit was great. I was extremely happy for a bit.

Now 2.5 years later and the red centers are pink and showing heavy wear on the drivers seat.

As I spent around 600 for the full seat front and back with map pockets. They were a waste of money. There are less expensive neoprene covers that I'm guessing would hold as well as these.

I used their cleaner and protective spray but it didn't help.

Now I do keep the top off during the warmer weather but as I travel for a living it spends most of it's time in the garage out of the sun.

Just my 2 cents but don't spend the money for Wet Okole.

With all that said, what have yall experienced for seat covers?

I have Wet Okole on my Tacoma, they have held up fine for 6 years. But, I went with Bartact for my Rubicon, they are far superior to the WO in all regards. Fit, feel, and quality. I would get them again over WO. The Bartacts are pricey, though. Worth it to me.

I had bargain neoprene on my previously owned X. They are still on the Jeep, but look pretty bad by now. Nothing like the WO on my Tacoma.

Bartact has good reviews. They have versions that are plain and some with the MOLLE strap systems. Check their website out though, they warn that some colors do not have the UV faded resistance.

#3 on Bartact, they receive consistently good reviews. My Bestop covers held up well too. And the very last brand and material I would ever choose for seat covers is Wet Okole's neoprene seat covers. Neoprene doesn't hold up well, its colors fade quickly & unevenly when they see much sun, and they are NOT waterproof as Wet Okole claims. Any experienced diver knows that neoprene soaks up water like a sponge.

I've had the Bestop seat covers for going on ten years and they show no signs of wear. They aren't the tightest fitting and the material isn't the greatest in a hot climate. If I were to be buying seat covers today, I'd choose the Bartact Baseline Performance seat covers without hesitation. They are limited to black and graphite colors, though. Bartact does offer their Tactical seat covers with various color inserts.

Honestly , they are one of my favorite things I have purchased for my Tj.

Bartact even has optional inflatable lumbar and seat heater inserts. In my opinion, it's the closest you'll get to new seats.

I went with the tecstyle this time around because they were cloth and not neoprene. One year in so far so good.

Like most anything, it depends on how you take care of them. They don't "smell like an old wetsuit" on their own. If you let them get wet & dirty, without cleaning them often enough, sure they will.

Needing to clean seat covers "often enough" to keep them from smelling is not something I'd cotton to.

I don't really wheel my Tacoma, so it's not an issue. I have not experienced them being hot in the summer. But my truck seats aren't out in the open with no top either.

Like I said, I am no longer a particular fan of the WO seat covers, now that I got a set of Bartact covers. I just haven't experienced the swamp a$$ effect that gets questioned about WO often.

Another vote for bestop. They are a little warm in the summer but they are extremely durable and relatively cheap. This was the day I put them on.

Though if money is no issue the bartracts fit incredibly well, cant even tell they are seat covers.

Yet another happy Trek Armor / Bartact fan here. Seat covers have been on 4 years and still look new. Their Molle bags have faded to a nice purple. .
