Jeez do I hate mud - especially when it's surprise mud

With almost 50 inches of rain per year & around 75 inches last year there’s really no such thing as surprise mud in these parts, but this particular pit got me. It looked like a standard muddy trail which usually means sinking in a few inches, I didn’t get more than 2 feet into this before the front end sunk in past the hubs, was like quick sand. Seems like a pound of it ended up in one eyeball or another in dribs and drabs over the next 6 months

It does suck. Stains my tan top and sticks tight to anything w Fluid Film. Terrible mission to get my Jeep clean afterwards. Even w a pressure washer!

Yeah, I don't even like to take mine on a dusty road. I like my vehicles clean, clean, clean! Jeeps just look bad ass fixed up!

This is the first year in a long long time that CA is not in a drought. It never stopped raining this winter. It was weird as hell. I remember a few years back. Sitting on my deck. And kept feeling something splatter on my bald head. I got this weird look on my face. And couldn't figure out if it was bird shit or what it was. Until my wife pointed out it was raining. That's how seldom it rains here. Sometimes it's months on end with no rain. and when it does come it's strange. This winter it never stopped. Day after day of rain. Really put a damper on Jeep projects for me.
Just read yesterday that some idiot flew a helicopter into the middle of a poppy field. Let his passengers off so they could further trample the flowers. It's a big deal here. People not staying on the roads. And taking pics from there. Everyone wants to get out and walk into the flowers and take pics. Which tramples them and destroys them. They now have to pass an ordinance against flying helicopters into the poppy fields.

After removing the passenger seat & the big aluminum box in the back so I could get the carpeting out, I took it to the coin-op car wash and pumped in $10 worth of quarters. Then toward the end of my time it ate $3 bucks worth of those quarters so was left with a mostly soapy haze. I had to finish hosing it off at home. 6 frigging ours getting the Jeep clean enough so the neighbors won't give me dirty looks but it's still apart with more to do and the carpeting is soaked so it's hanging up in the backyard to dry.
Plus there's enough rust in the back under where the carpeting got soaked a few times that I should probably do something about it. Just a little surface rust especially in nooks & crannies but it probably shouldn't be left like that.
I'm going to buy some kind of rattle can product to cover the floor after getting rid of the rust, I'll post a thread to ask what are the recommendations. So now the driver's seat will have to come out too but at least it'll go back in without the seat spacers that positioned the seat too high for ease of ingress/egress.
