AX15 transmission upgrade for the 4-banger

Looks pretty tempting if only our Canuck buck was a little stronger. Brand new AX15 from Japan.

On another note, they also have a kit to stuff a Hemi into a TJ. WTF? My 2014 Ram has 395hp with 392 gears. Big enough slicks and a TJ would be launching the front end off the ground. I would be scared to drive it.

My 6.0 kicks out 363 hp and 390 ft lbs stock- but mine isn't stock. It is a kick to drive. The biggest thrill is coming to an obstacle and just slightly tapping the throttle to get over/climb. While it will definitely get down the road the only problem I have with control is on wet pavement. Got to be careful then!!!

Advanced Adapters is an awesome company. I know from experience that Vic Carrol in tech support and sale goes way out of his way to help the customer. Very satisfied with them.

I actually bought mine from Novak but AA is a great company as well. Their AX-15 conversion kit for the 2.5/AX-5 seems to be top notch and looks to include everything needed for the swap.

The AX-15 sold by AA is brand new also so the buyer should be getting the same thing I got from Novak other than Novak's shifter pieces that they include for the buyer such as the shift knob and straight shift cane.

They also gave me new bellhousing bolts to bolt the bellhousing to the transmission and I'm not sure if AA does that or not. Probably can't go wrong with either Novak or AA for an AX-15 though.

One thing to keep in mind with an AX-5 to AX-15 swap is that the 5th gear of the AX-15 is slightly higher, meaning lower RPMs by about 200. This will result in slightly less power in 5th if you're okay with it. Otherwise, the AX-15 is great and it'll live forever behind that 2.5.
