What did you do to your TJ today?

Today I drove it over to see my parents & decided I needed pictures of them in it, my mom is only 4'10" & pushing 80 so I practically had to pick her up & throw her up & in but we got it done:

Dad is a bit older but also taller, was a little easier getting him in there.

I'd love to take him wheeling with me but I fear getting him in & out 47 times to take a leak might become too cumbersome for him

If the brake pad slide plates aren't grooved save them for a fellow jeeper. I gave mine to a forum member who had worn out plates.
I'm pretty sure the pads and rotors were factory original. There's no wear, just a lot of dirt and a tiny but of rust.

Even more scary is that the brake fluid looked original

So it turns out the centramatics won't fit the front wheel with a Super 16 without a wheel spacer. I didn't expect them to, but I figured I would try anyways.

Otherwise, I gave the big brake kit a quick road test, and it performed well even without the pads being broken in. I definitely feel like there's more control over the braking.

Stock size pads vs. the new caliper:

Today was forecast to be 74 and sunny, so I decided it would be a good day to install my Alien Shade. I only pulled the soft top down part way, because the last forecast I saw for next week calls for rain 4 out of the 7 days. After I got it on and put the soft top back up, I looked at my phone's forecast and it didn't show rain at all. Figures. LOL

I left the bar that came with the soft top on because I was putting the soft top back up. I do like it on there just for reassurance that the rain will not pool up. I know I'm probably just being paranoid about that, but its the way it is. LOL

Looks pink in that pic. LOL

Once that was done I made my sticker for my hitch brake light. It's still daylight so I couldn't' get a good pic but this one shows what it is supposed to do. :D

After that I decided I would see how good I could do on making parachord door handles. They didn't turn out to bad. :D I need to find some nicer looking bolts to use on doors though. The PO put that big bolt in there. The other side is like that too. Time to go to Emiegh hardware and do some bolt searching. LOL

Since the handles didn't turn out to bad, I plan on making me some grab handles. I don't want the traditional ones you see on the roll bars. I'm going to try to make a loop style one that will hang from the bolt that holds the roll bar to the windshield post. I'll post some pics once I get them done. If they come out ok. LOL

So I got a few things done to the TJ today. :D

haha My mum is 4ft 8in 75yo (and shrinking) I have to bring a 3 step ladder when I take her out...she loves it when the doors come off.
