Wow, that wrap looks so good you can hardly tell it's a wrap. What did it run you, and how long did it take them?
I like wraps for the durability. A few guys in town have camo wrapped trucks. They are indestructible. Not sure I'd do it for a colour change tho. Too many other variables. And I'd never do it on a clean, shinny Jeep. Wraps are all about covering up shit cheap.
The hunters around here do their old pickups in camo. Looks great, stands up at least as good as paint.

I see a lot of people not trying to wrap their jeeps and only really looking at professional install. Did you guys know a high quality wrap is very easy to work with and install? almost anyone can do it and make it look awesome, even people who have never wrapped. In my case, if you have a soft top and half doors, you barely need any vinyl to cover the whole jeep. Can easily change the jeep color with a wrap for under $500. And thats with high quality vinyl (Avery Dennison, 3M). Just an idea. they are charging close to 750-1000 in labor for these wraps. takes 2 days with 1 person. Wrap vs paint on a jeep thread is all about offroad use in my opinion. If your jeep is a trailer queen, wrap it yourself and change it whenever you want for so cheap!!!
I'm very, very strongly considering having mine wrapped in the "Gobi" JK color.
In fact, at this point I'm almost dead set on it. For the price (around $1500) I think it's worth it. It will hold up for 7 years, I won't have to worry about scratching nice, new paint, and I can change the color whenever I please (and knowing me, I change my mind a lot!).

We need more info on this. Like how much stuff do you have to take off to have this done? I thought I'd have to wait several years to save up enough money for a new paint job. But since I just want to keep it black or that black camo would be cool. For a grand that would be amazing to have done.

I did a partial matte black wrap yesterday with Avery Dennison brand vinyl. The material was $60. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos, read articles and went for it. I'm quite happy with the results.
As far as durability, this video sealed the deal for me :
His wrap was professionally done and mine was a backyard job so I'm unsure how it'll look over time. But for $60 it looks much fresher and is protecting the rapidly deteriorating stock paint. Plus it's removable.

Nice job! How much of a scratch will that stuff cover up effectively? Thinking about having this done on mine. But I have several pretty deep scratches on my doors. Well into the primer at least.

I'm not sure about scratches. I had some significant peeling on my cowl down to primer. Some spots were down to bare metal. These layer changes are visible on the wrap so it's likely that deep scratches will also be visible as an 'elevation' change on the surface.
Nice, especially for the price. I've been watching wrap videos (along with PlastiDip videos), and have been thinking of getting some material just to test it out. What I love about the wrap is there is no messing around with dangerous chemicals/paints in a neighborhood setting. And you can change color/pattern whenever it suits.
