Utah Moab Trip 4/27/19-5/5/19

I'd bet the sensor 2 to 1 odds. Very frustrating that the Crown replacement is required to fix certain 05-06 OPDA's (even though Tom's was good), but the Crown sensor is trash. How long must Crown have known about this????? Dorman no better I don't think. I had some serious issues after I replaced my good OPDA that took me a half day to figure out, but it wasn't the sensor, just getting everything lined up...I hope this works out soon for your sake Tom....so you can get out there into those quieter unseen serene places...enjoyed our time with you...blessings...

Broke camp at Moab today, and the second pic was Robyn taking a picture from the cab of the truck on the way to Escalante.

I guess thankfully it didn’t happen on a trail, today I had difficulty starting it, managed to get it going after some patience. My arb fan was also still running, so I disconnected that, guess I gotta call them too.

On the way to pick up dinner I had a hard shift and it was bucking when trying to accelerate up a hill. When I start it now too the engine sounds a bit weird. I’m going to disconnect the battery and let the system reset and double check that service bulletin, it sure is sounding like the PCM though. Anyone know any diagnostics myself or a shop can do?

Should have given it a push on Tuesday >.<

Are all of your codes cleared now? I have a hard time believing it is the ECU. Have you replaced it already or is it the stock one?

Can you think of anything weird like a pattern? I mean it seemed to have died at the same place twice, but it was fine in between then? Did you it rain by chance when you had issues? Were there anything in common besides just being in the same town when it happened?

I would replace the ECU as a last result, and would eliminate everything else before putting one in. Aftermarket ECU's sometimes open up a can of worms.

I am a little confused on your story. I am guessing that you had the crank shaft code and put a new crank sensor in. But you are still having the same issues? Are you still getting the same codes?

The reason I asked if it is raining when you have issues, is that that could be a pattern. Although saying that it rained the first few days in Moab, and you didn't have any issues, so we can probably rule that out.

Did you hit 88 mph and go back in time ? lol
lol I get the reference, but I had to cross what I think was 3 mountain passes to get here, and was lucky to get up to 35mph. At some point, we even ran into a bit of snow. It was slow going, but sure paid off.

Some of the best places to get too are the most difficult...from what we can see it was well worth the effort. did you haul your trailer and Jeep through all that too ?

Looking good as usual.....the Grand Canyon is fantastic..I flew into it back in the 90's (the last time I was in the states) drove up from Phoenix wish I had spent longer there.

If you ever do that again, hit me up, you were in my stomping grounds (Phoenix) I actually live about 10 minutes from the airport.
