Would you buy this TJ?

Can you run the risk on buying a clean title TJ and have many issues to follow as well??? That’s why i’m torn. It’s a used vehicle so I guess it’s a dice roll regardless. Any advice?
You always run some risk with used vehicles, no matter what. That's pretty much the reason for personal inspections, and taking it to a shop for evaluation when possible.

For 13k you could take a trip down south, buy a Rubicon, and get it back home. No real rust issues down here.
Do you have any good places to search for used 2003-2006 TJs?? I’ve been looking everywhere and I find a few... but I’d have to build the jeep and I’m not sure if I can do that.

But buying a rebuilt title is basically knowing you are buying something with problems or that once had problems.

How 'built' was the one you initially asked about?

Well that's true on most any purchase. A salvaged title reduces the value quite a lot IMO. If it's been properly repaired that is one thing but you can't (most likely) get a loan on it and selling it is the same issue only with the new buyer, that is it's a cash deal.

I know it is a straight 6 engine which apparently was not damaged in the collision. It has a 3” rough country lift with 33s. I don’t have the complete details of what was rebuilt .. but she said she would try to have her brother give her those records.

Hi folks,

I found a manual 2005 clean white TJ. 81,000 miles on it. No rust. Some mild cosmetic issues. Biggest issue.... driver side collision, i believe something with the axel. Now.... title is rebuilt. The seller states she bought it without a title from first owner (if that makes sense) due to the frame and condition and knew she could repair it. She had her brother repair whatever was messed up. They had to have it inspected 3 times by the state to get the title to say rebuilt. Her asking price is 13,000. Condition looks mint in person. Would you guys buy this?????
Seller bought Jeep with no title, Jeep inspected 3 times for a rebuilt title, asking 13k.

Your question is "would you buy this"? NO!
You can do better, be patient.

LOL. I just feel impulsive because I cannot find a clean white TJ 2003-2006 manual ANYWHERE!!! in mint condition.

One of the rules I never violate is: Only buy vehicles with current registration and unblemished title.

Perhaps some "great find" has slipped my grasp by following this rule, but the same reason you are asking us about the wisdom of buying a vehicle with "rebuilt title" will be the reason you may have difficulty getting a good price or even any buyer at all when it comes time to sell.

@tennant, please do not post three threads all about the same thing, in three separate sub-forums, with three different titles.

I just had to merge all three of your threads into one. I understand you're a new member, but please, please, please be mindful of stuff like this.

Thank you for understanding.

Only reasons I can think of buying a rig like this is:

1) as a dedicated off-road rig
2) too cheap to pass up
3) to keep a loved ones rig in the family
4) there were no more TJ’s on the planet

You don’t want a 3” rough country lift anyway. The ride will suck and you’ll end up changing it out anyway. We can walk you through building your own unmolested TJ and avoid the horrors of idiot builds
